I liked where this was going, but I think after a bit, tortuga continuing to run east and west went to the verge of retarded. There was plenty of time in their to realize your plan wasnt working and do something else.

I'm really having a hard time figuring out what exactly makes this log so good. Sure, takes some amount of guts to stick on someone with a patrol, but with lots of healing and MELS, anybody would do the same thing... nothing special about it imo.

Yes, i did want him to hunt me. after like 2 rounds of him not moving, i realized that he was probably hunting me. I can't say for sure (this was like 2mo ago or so, i think) but i think i moved south slowly, realized that he was hunting me, then hit to go south and east/west a lot. thought that my ambush + a patrol would be enough to get him. even if i had died, i also thought that he would die (from the patrol or other ERs [i had commed during the pk that he was there]) and trading isn't all that bad. especially when you're the one that ends up with the mels.

Ever try to see your hp while someone is doing massive running and a patrol is kicking your ass? This was before the downgrade, and yah I wasn't taking a chance with any bugs. So thats why the spam. I would of spammed tent or some hb but Tortuga used this style before and I almost died. I knew he was just doing random rooms, so he couldn't alias back. I lived too, I learned Har and Kadar map grid really really quick, you tend to have to when patrols are insanely strong.
Yeah Jabba I was going to ask the same, why the kill spam if you had mels? but maybe Filch answered, or not.
I assume that when he realised he was being hunted he tried to use the old trick of 'do 10e,10w' to make sure that baklen wouldn't be able to get a hit on him (patrol's were bugged so that the patrol re-attacks you every room you move in making it doesn't matter how quickly you type 'kill target' you will never actually get a hit on the person. I think thats been fixed now however). Obviously because Baklen was using mels it wouldn't have worked even if the patrol's were bugged, might have run baklen out of ep though I suppose.
He may have realised (since he shaped baklen right after the ambush) that baklen was in good shape still so as such with inferior EQ he'd have gotten his ass handed to him. In home ground I'd have probably stayed around though, there are plenty of breaks close by. I only tend to hunt off if the target is still in GS/Ave if I'm deep inside enemy territory with patrols spawning (being unable to camo means I can't ditch a patrol so easily) and I'm starting to get below half HP. I dunno, maybe tortuga can shed some light.
Uh, nice log man. What was he doing just curious? I'm an old timer...why ambush and then run immediately? I mean its a nice initial attack but did he really think you'd be walking around with 80hp?
