Nice comments, guys. But I wasn't really trying to start a debate about the merits of the MC or their ability to dole out legends. I was just responding to whoever made the comment about Julius not getting a legend. :P
Well, the thing is that once one guy who obviously didn't deserve one got one, it lowered the bar so others who didn't deserve it could get one.

On a side note, its wasn't hard to get a legend when mcouncil was around. Have friends, vote yes, legend implimented. I think Serex was one of the few or only ones during mc's time that voted no and ainur made him a legend anyways.
I think the legend thing is somewhat of a misnomer. Or, at least every person that's ever played this mud long enough to hear about legends interpret it differently. So it's pretty pointless to argue about. There'll always be your own heroes, villians and legends *shrugs*
Funny though, regarding Gothwin. When I played, Gothwin was one of those I considered a friend and yet she is by far the one that attacked Calenril the most. :) But it amused us both I think.
Well anyways, time to go back to the god damn studying.
If memory serves, the MC voted in favour of giving Julius, on arguably his most famous and prolific character, a permanent legend. His brother, who might have been Chair at the time, drummed up a lot of support and the issue passed with a healthy majority. But the legend wasn't implemented because he recreated that character and started playing it again. Otherwise he'd have his legend.
I (on various chars) had dealings with gothwin, over many years. She may not have been the best killer, or the most proficient, however with regards to her impact on the mud, and how she acted, hell even the length of time she was around she was lightyears ahead of alkath or julius. Thats why gothwin has a legend and the other two do not.
Anyone who went to mordor for a period of 2-3 years (real life time, hell more but I didn't go to mordor for a lot of that time) knew who gothwin was, that alone is deserving of a legend.

Instead of whining about it go make petitions about people who you think should have legends, if Alkath's guildmates/friends bothered to make a petition for it I don't think it would have any trouble passing.. about Julius, he hasn't suicided any of his more famous chars..

Im confused as to what the legend comment means, does she have a perm legend on an alt? or...? Trying to not sound biased, but I think if a player who's claim to fame was the quote 'oops, i did it again'(Devon for the new guys) deserves a frickin legend, Daywalker and his bro just might also.
