If all you did was kill NPC's in T2T and didn't interact with real players, then it would just be a game. Dying to an NPC isn't as big a deal as dying to an enemy guild with real players.
If all you did when playing Monopoly was sit by yourself, roll the dice and move the car(of course you would always have the car) around the board, it wouldn't be much of a game, so much as it would be a mental illness. Losing all your money to your little sisters hotel on Mayfair isn't as big a deal as losing it to your own God damned electrical company.

Armand, I guess I dont understand your ideas. I was taught that friends are all that matters. The guild is a place that gives home to people with different background and understandings. If you ask from your guildmates to throw away their past and to follow your ideas no matter what they think - you have chosen the right person in the face of Xsi. Maybe your other guildmates are like that too.
I believe that when there are guild affairs involved, everyone can say 'I am out of this, because XX is my friend or because I believe what you guys are doing is wrong'. If I were a GM, I would never force anyone to do something for the guild that he does not believe right.
This way people can respect and keep their friends and also be a part of the guild. Because know what Armand, OOC friends remain longer. RL friends - forever. Atleast it should be this way. Because this is just a game.

I will give everyone here a word of advice, taking this game seriously was an in thing to do about 3-4 years ago. It has no place anymore especially with the changes that have been made ainur side. If you take this game seriously now you're a moron.
Sadly I have to agree with Daywalker. Many of the higher skilled players (pk/non-pk) have left to other places like WoW and what not. I couldn't care less either, I am just waiting for 1y and hopefully some people can come celebrate at my event.
Its funny though how much evils hate me so much now even though all I do is take BP's back (and only once a month maybe take bp's belonging to er's) and very very seldom actually player kill anymore. I think the ones that whine and such mainly are pissy when they can't go get a bunch of free kills.:)

I think this is more than just a game. If you have a game where you interact with people, form guilds, have pride, have friendships, etc...it is automatically going to become more than a game. Of course, I know there are those that can see it completely as a game, and those that can't.
But these log comments show a lot of how it IS more than game, or who would care about reading, and commenting?

No, the most vocal elements make it seem like it's just a PK MUD... but as secretive as we are, I'm happy to say my guild is doing just fine, and I'M probably the last person to PK anyone... and the poor ER just should've seen my lightning coming.
Everyone talks about things going downhill, but that's just because certain elements are... very loud. But like someone's legendinfo says, comm off once in a while, stay out of the politics, don't steal phials, and don't bang, just for a few days.
Rediscover the game... there's a lot more to it than proving 'skill.' If you have something to prove, hell, prove you can write a damn good story or go ... psh, insert whatever here.
