ERs are supposed to fight each other. Just open the LotR and you can see Tolkien said that many times. So a troll pounding a human shouldn't be surprising to the guys with the secret entrance.

That sounds like a dumb troll operating the gate to me... I like that there is a password for morals. Someone shrouded in armour and a cloak can't always be discerned as an enemy.

we can, however it's wonderfully thematic that one of gondors best warriors can escape a pursuing army of sauron by running into mordor.
We can use the password as well, more evils should learn to trigger the gates using it when hunting FR's around there
even a triggered 'do 2knock on gates,s' would be too slow. grimscar would most likely be gone before amearn's party got inside
