After eternally long minutes of struggling, you manage to pull yourself up into the tree. You breathe heavily as you watch the wolves and orcs begin to gather and circle around the base of the large tree. The top of a tree(d and u) HP:0 EP:0> u u You scramble up to the top of the tree. The goblins howl in rage at your greater distance....You notice that they seem to be discussing something among themselves. After several grunts, one of them runs off into the forest in a big hurry! The others begin to swear at you in their native tongue, but it just sounds like a lot of spitting and grunting to you. Then, just as you thought things were getting better, the one goblin returns with a torch!! A loud cheer erupts from the crowd of evil below. They cheer again as the one who seems to be the leader sets the base of the tree on fire!! This doesn't look good. The top of a tree() HP:0 EP:0> You can't go that way! HP:0 EP:0> score Dead. Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. Dead! You are in an immaterial state and have no other scores. HP:0 EP:0> The flames begin to engulf the top limbs of the tree. You watch as the last limb below you bursts into flames. The heat is unbearable, and you begin to prepare yourself for a last desperate jump into the clutches of the evil crowd below. They will surely kill you slowly and violently. Perhaps you can take a few with you before you are overcome! You take one last long breath and leap to your death..... ....You feel a rush of wind and one of the spears poking you as you fall. It's a little uncomfortable, but not that painful, surprisingly. The sensation of falling has stopped....you seem to be hovering. With a giant lurch you begin to go UP! The wind rushes by in gusts, and you look up into the underbelly of a GREAT EAGLE!! The spear sensation was just the talons grasping you! You are saved!! With a yell of gratitude you look down on the throngs of goblins and wolves going insane with anger at the loss of their enemy. The fire begins to burn out of control and several of them are caught in the flames and die a horrible screaming death. With a big sigh of relief you watch the world pass below you as the eagle travels. In the Talons of a Great Eagle glance What?
