Actually, Hellflame didn't do anything good here. Waste EP on failed hamstring attempts, instead of shiving Core to actually deal damage? Fight with one-handed PBS for 1/3rd of the fight? Picking up at least one of Core's pasties would've worked too. The only good thing Hellflame did was not pansying out and hunting 'till death, but due to his prior mistakes, it ended up with him dead. He might've done his best, but that wasn't good.
This was one of those instances, and that's what makes it a good read. I remember Core's typist out manning me in STS once by having those damn pasties as the only healing between the two of us! They're evil I tell you...
There are only a handful of instances where doing very well still gets you dead. It's a hell of a stretch to call this very good.
Hellflame has come quite a way in the pk scene, he did very well to face off against Core like this.
You're right, we can't blame him for being a noob. All the things mentioned are out of his skill level, so they weren't really his fault.

Tlaloc, yeah, heat of battle is definitely different than sitting and reading the log which is quite a good justification for not comdemning Hellflame for not doing everything that he, quite obviously, could have done better, and these little things, they are not that hard to spot when reading the log, either, given that (I think) they were already pointed out in this thread:P

Of course, everyone may be able to think of something little he could've done better. But think about the conditions he was in. In the middle of battle, there is no way that you do everything at 100%. If you are at 100%, you are figthing someone not at your level.

I mean it's good enough if you want to brouse instead of spamming 'kill NPC 2' but I doubt you'd want to brouse while PKing. Not that I haven't done it but don't do it at home:P You may have to relevel afterwards:P

A trigger to kill is lame. As Jaron said, it wouldn't be useful either. I use it only on NPCs while I'm brousing the web while doing flask or DDM. And if I shape the targets, the trigger gets bugged and misses sometimes.
Throwing a shield is stylish but it makes you busy and you may never get something better than a hit very hard. You'd better not throw shields unless you are a low lever party member who can't be sure to have a chance to deal serious damage.

A trigger fires every 2 seconds. The patrol attacks you each time you move a room. You can move more than 10 rooms per second. Do the math.
Trigger Core todo kill core would take care of focusing... 'that one small thing he could've done better', I think Polk thought that Hellflame should have kept that pbs double wielded the whole fight (he messed it up after he drunk bota) *shrug*... also I would probably thrown my shield at Core if I were him.
Actually he did a pretty good job focusing. I'd like to see you manage to get all rounds on the target running with a patrol entering after you at each room.

No, it wasn't his only mistake :P There's that one small thing he could've done better, which would most likely end up with Core's death instead.
HellLame did his best. Perhaps his only mistake was not drinking the flask at once. I may have skipped something, I was reading fast but man, what a log!
Anyway, Core did the impossible fighting a higher level who had healing with pasty. Both of them had to fight a patrol.
Core style, awesome log. Absolutely.
