'There wasn't a damn thing wrong with fade. I'm still wondering what the reasoning behind its removal was besides one guy's personal opinion.'

That's an easy one to answer, Rekthorne. Fade (an assassin ability) was being used to evade assassins. Can't have that. It'd be like non-archers training deflecting and carrying shields... oh, wait... or like non-wizards training RM. Oh, wait...

Are you illiterate? After reading both Pablo and Delgaurs comments it's obvious none of them understood what Byron wrote. Then again you guys may be dyslexic or perhaps just mentally crippled. Byron rocks.

Make non-assassins be able to use fade and sniffers and assassin use Camouflage. The difference will be that when a non-assassin/sniffer uses it, there will be the 'Footsteps' and 'being watched' if you use fade and camouflage you will run around undetected, Of course assassins and sniffers will be able to use fade as well, but then there will be footsteps for them too.

' Either that, or you're just spewing bullshit in some kind of pathetic failure of an attempt to make us look bad.'

Sounds like your doing a good job of that yourself. lol. Lets face it, who really gives a shit? - clearly BKD have issues as they feel the need to defend it :)

I'm well aware of that he was in the area. Considering how often you see BKD going for whip at regular reboots, do you think it might be possible he was there for another reason?

oh and like as you quoted me (from your quote) 'not that i care because i don't' and then like 2 paragraphs down you said 'The bottom line, however, is that it's none of your business what anyone in the Baruk Khazad-dum does.' god you're such a defensive dee dee dee :P

'oh and just so you know. some comment sections ago, bkd claimed to not use/get whip and a bkd just pushed boulder to get it this boot. not that i care because i don't, just found it funny that you seemed proud to not do it anymore, blatant hypocrites :P'

    1. You've clearly been misinformed regarding why said BKD was there at boot. Either that, or you're just spewing bullshit in some kind of pathetic failure of an attempt to make us look bad.

    2. Nowhere in our theme does it say 'BKD will not wield the Balrog's whip.'

Byron Silverbeard has never wielded the whip, nor will he. I'm sure other members have, and would, given the opportunity. It's a matter of how they want to play their characters. I sure as hell don't have any right to tell them how to do that, now, do I? We have BKD who for example never wield swords, as part of their roleplay. I'm glad they decide on unique ways to play their characters however they choose to. It's the same as choosing a profession, really, or when deciding on your alignment, what you kill and what you don't, who you're friendly towards and who you're hostile towards. If anyone, dwarf, BKD or otherwise feel like wielding aiglos, mels, whip, cc, a staff or a fucking large spoon into battle, not only is it none of my fucking business, I'm even happy for them. I think it's great if some BKD choose not to wield the whip, I think it's great if some BKD choose to wield it. I'm thrilled that they find ways to 'personalise' their characters and have unique ways of roleplaying them. The bottom line, however, is that it's none of your business what anyone in the Baruk Khazad-dum does.

Ah, someone makes a statement and that goes for the remaining 70+ members as well? Wild. I don't give a fuck about whip, we don't use it just the same. We used to use it a shitload in the early days, I guess whoever it was that came up with the no-touch rule, after we couldn't be impartial no more, (So whip became worthless to us) Is pretty fucking amused that you all see it like it's what marks our RP.. maybe it was Nurgamazur. Truth is if i said hey, feel free to get whip guys, half the guild would love it and the other half protest.. damn i have too much time on my hands.

You're not stating facts Azrylar, it's your own oppinion. And I truly second Pallasch on the point he was making there. See if Grimscar or any player like that came along it wouldn't hurt our eyes as much, opposed to you schooling people on PK.

I really don't he ever once mentioned how good he was at using Fade, he was talking about it being fun either way...

Besides, I remember people complaining for years about Aura going away, so blah to everyone. I've died no more or no less when fade was around then when camo came into existance.

Asssasination is NOT about brute strength per se Pallasch, that's just how yourself and some others have choosen to do it with stab and spammed headbutts, and some doofuses 5 manning people with strikes... For others its about timing, which is of course lent to with the lack of detection for camo'd people and the killer stabs. Mirnac, it is already about turning the tables (As you must have learnt when Delgaur took you to school), that's the whole god damn fun of the game, its about out-strategizing and having a good time... not fade, attack, oh no I'm screwing up hahaha I can get away with no fines now, or, woo double backstab!

All in all if fade came back I'd still enjoy the PvP scene, and a refreshing change would suit everyone well. I simply wanted to point out a few things.

    Question about all this:

Would you bring back fade, but still keep camo for assassins and sniffers?

Mainly so that assassins could still hunt without being detected with the 'you hear a footstep nearby', but still allow people to escape with fade.

Of course, assassins could fade too, but then they couldn't camo...

So the choice for assassins would be anonymous with fade, or undetected with camo.

    Just curious.

Bringing back fade for everyone would give noobs a chance to break beyond inn rooms and the few huntbreaks that don't need camo. This MUD has become very non-newb-friendly.

Sure you might fail killing some more targets, But at the same time some more people would try to turn the tables and it would turn out alot more fun then it is right now. That is why i want fade back, people had a bigger shot at surviving and also alot of funniers situations came along.

Yeah, solo killing is more easy because of uber backstabs and your target not being able to use nearly as many huntbreaks, so it's less about skill and patience and more about brute strength. So bring back fade.

What did people do before fade? - i like it as it is now - solo killing is far more easy. Shame its not done more often. Seems bangs are more rife than ever.
