logs lying in the mud, providing the orcs with a place to sit
as they enjoy their meals. You can smell something hideous
wafting in from the west, and the stench mingles with a more
pleasant smell of meat being flame-broiled to the north. East
leads out of the orcs' camp and back to relative safety.

You open the flap and enter the tent.
    You have entered a large tent big enough for several orcs. There
are 10 bunks lining both the east and west sides, providing the orcs
with a place to sleep. The ground is not as muddy as it was outside
the tent, but it is still quite damp and mucky. On the south side of
the large structure, you can make out a small area where the orcs
gamble and play games to pass the time. There is a disgusting smell
lingering in the air, and you realize that some lazy orcs haven't
bothered to take the short walk to the latrine.

burnt machines of siege dot the area, providing somewhere to sit
for a host of drunken orcs. A troll that has turned to stone seems
to be rather entertaining to the orcs, who laugh and throw empty
bottles at it. One very large orc is not drunk, and he carefully
guards a large catapult which looks to be in working order.

sought to find this mystical place, and many have failed. As
you look northward towards the gates, you see for the first 
time why so many have tried. The walls of the city seem almost
to shimmer, and dazzle your eyes with their pure white color.  The
water is the dirtiest you have ever seen, as it roars underneath
this beautiful structure.  Staring at the water, you notice that many
branches and debris are being swept along with the current.  There is
no way that the elves would do such a thing to this wonderful place.
You sigh, and watch the muddy water lick at the base of the walls.

    These are the great gates of Caras Galadhon. The path takes a
bend to the northeast just before coming upon them. As you stand
at the doorway to such a mysterious place, you wonder why it is
that evil has never penetrated these gates. The bridge leads back
to the south. Two immovable sentinels stand on either side of the
gates.

    You slowly walk around the city, still a bit surprised to be 
within a place of such peace and beauty.  You walk under a small 
wooden eve and finally arrive just beyond the wall itself.  The 
city of Caras Galadhon lies before you in all its glory!  Sounds 
of the bustling city float past you, as you pause to take in the 
sights.  A small flet is in the tree directly in front of you, 
standing by itself.

    As you slowly walk down the street you come to a meeting place of
the two roads. It is very busy here and several elves are standing
around waiting for something to do. People keep passing you by, as
well as several horsemen. You notice that the city seems to be
on a small hill. Beautiful Mallorn trees are all around you.

    All around you trees rise up with flets in them that the elves 
live in. One large flet is directly above you and a very sweet smell
is coming from it. Walking a little further you see it is a bakery. The
road moves further east and it gets very quiet here except for an
occasional song floating out onto the breeze.

so much so that only the birds and animals can be heard. Several 
flets dot the trees around you, and a small pile of rocks sits along 
the side of the road. To the north you see a row of shops and flets
that seem to be busier than the rest of the city.

    As you slowly walk towards the shops you see the full effect that
the siege has had on the city. Vendors stand around with carts
empty and elves stand there waiting as if food might pop up. The only
place that is thriving right now is the weapons shop! You notice 
there is not a shortage of perishable food though, just items that 
can't be grown.

    As you walk further down the street you come to an intersection.
To your north there is a small area of flets and to your south is
a large flet, huge in fact, that rises above the rest. You can also
see a healer's flet down the east path.

to the main street and keeps going on to the east. Looking

    This path seems to be getting darker and darker the farther you
get from the main street. This definitely looks like one of the less- 
travelled streets of Caras Galadhon. The noise of horses moving about and
neighing can be heard to the east. A slight glow seems to come from
the flet up above you.

    As you enter this flet, the light blinds you somewhat. After
a few seconds, your eyes adjust to the glow. The walls are lined
with bottles and odd-looking packages. Occasionally the old elf
takes one of these down briefly. As you look around you see a wide
variety of elves, almost as varied as their ailments, who have
come to seek the help of the healer.

a large flet, huge in fact, that rises above the rest. You can also

    As you slowly walk towards the shops you see the full effect that
the siege has had on the city. Vendors stand around with carts
empty and elves stand there waiting as if food might pop up. The only
place that is thriving right now is the weapons shop! You notice 
there is not a shortage of perishable food though, just items that 
can't be grown.

    As you slowly walk down this street it starts to get quiet again,
so much so that only the birds and animals can be heard. Several 
flets dot the trees around you, and a small pile of rocks sits along 
the side of the road. To the north you see a row of shops and flets
that seem to be busier than the rest of the city.

    As you slowly walk down the street you come to a meeting place of
the two roads. It is very busy here and several elves are standing
around waiting for something to do. People keep passing you by, as
well as several horsemen. You notice that the city seems to be
on a small hill. Beautiful Mallorn trees are all around you.

within a place of such peace and beauty.  You walk under a small 
wooden eve and finally arrive just beyond the wall itself.  The 
city of Caras Galadhon lies before you in all its glory!  Sounds 
of the bustling city float past you, as you pause to take in the 
sights.  A small flet is in the tree directly in front of you, 
standing by itself.

    These are the great gates of Caras Galadhon. The path takes a
bend to the northeast just before coming upon them. As you stand
at the doorway to such a mysterious place, you wonder why it is
that evil has never penetrated these gates. The bridge leads back
to the south. Two immovable sentinels stand on either side of the
gates.

(-LOT-)HP:200 EP:200--/     You are now almost at the gates of Caras Galadhon. Many have 
sought to find this mystical place, and many have failed. As
you look northward towards the gates, you see for the first 
time why so many have tried. The walls of the city seem almost
to shimmer, and dazzle your eyes with their pure white color.  The
water is the dirtiest you have ever seen, as it roars underneath
this beautiful structure.  Staring at the water, you notice that many
branches and debris are being swept along with the current.  There is
no way that the elves would do such a thing to this wonderful place.
You sigh, and watch the muddy water lick at the base of the walls.

city of Caras Galadhon. It is said that the people that dwell therein
have never let evil pass inside the walls of their beautiful city.
It would not be wise to try and be the first. All around you the 
sounds of birds and the wind can be heard.
