Look down. The whole point was that you can't make an assumption about a guild from one action out of context.

What is wrong with taking an opportunistic shot at someone who is and has been very difficult to kill?

And you're basing your opinion of the whole guild on a guy who was in it for 3 months and then kicked out?

Wasn't lost, I was sitting right in front the Dragon Gate chatting with Baklen and someone else (Dorf, I think). I went a few rooms to see if you were hunting, and didn't bother to try and break.

Azer, the incident Scat is referring to is when I slaughtered his lost ass in Erebor on my BkD Maleficus geared to the teeth because he was in combat with auto-attacking dwarves. Not my fault he was naked, lost, in combat with dwarves, in my mountain.

    Where's my ale!

I'm glad he didn't do the same in this instance.

Nagash, I understand you appear frustrated with things, and obviously hate Carver for this RP stuff you apparently blame on him...but how do you figure this ugly kidding PK stuff can be blamed on his type of RP-er? Wouldn't you agree in the last two years, the addition of Evil Races, with no lawsys, and therefor an invite to everyone to PK was a bigger part of the problem with what is going on now? I mean, I don't see how Carver trying to hold onto RP, even if you dislike his methods, somehow turned everyone into kids who love to PK? It seems to me the game itself has been focused on the PK path for the last two years, thus inviting that kind here.

    Anyways, just curious.

It's not that. I do accuse Carver of destroying most of roleplaying this MUD had -- and replacing it with a retarded way of using emotes. And this is the reason for my pure hatred towards him.

This log itself isn't anything to look at, yeah -- but you are not going to persuade me that Carver is worth anything else than spitting at.

It's the likes of him who are guilty of turning pk into a realm of despicable kiddies. We _did_ have flawed but enjoyable game where RP and pk could be one, and instead we have mock RP and ugly pk. Do you remember for example Korzan? He might have been not a top roleplayer, but he _did_ roleplay a villain pretty well. Show me a shred of RP in the actions of the likes of Altar...

Whatever people's opinions of Carver, this log wasn't worth posting, or even new. I think he had you low enough that patting yourself on the back like this should be a deathblow :P

Before you sing Carver's praises for standing his ground and dying like a man, realize that he didn't have anywhere to run. If he could, I'm sure he would have forgone the says and RPed his way into his guildhall.

Not everybody agress upon what is role playing. I think personal that Carver is a great person at role playing. He even keeps whispering tagging every single whisper to me with 'ooc'.

Instead of just hitting an alias to run to a hunt break Carver died like like someone could have done it in books.

Uh no, the MUD has pretty much always been like this in varying degrees. You just remember it that way because you were a kid/newbie then.

I will have to say, I do Pentheus. I mean jesus christ, Carver tries to bring back one of the greatest aspects of the game from when I mudded. Gone are the days of roleplaying between guilds. The mud has been reduced to powerplaying, who has the best weapon/armour combo, who can kill who etc etc. Who gives a shit? We used to come here because we all shared one thing in common, a love of Tolkien and his works and a desire to make his world real. Now we just rag on people for their choice of playing the game. Fuck that, if Carver gets his pleasure with long emotes and odd speech, more power too him, it's more pleasure than most of has have derived from this game over the years. Bring it back, bring it all back, no matter how flawed the system was, it's better than the shit we have now. You login to fill our armoury, make some kills and get some gold. What about playing your role? Anyways this is probably the first and last ranting I've made while I'm drunk, so forgive my grammatical errors and typo's, I won't comment further on the subject. Long live the forgotten days of morals and roleplaying, you still have my respect Carver, so doing what you believe in despite the criticism and bullshit you face daily from the jackasses of this mud.

    Az

Given that this is a roleplaying game, I suggest that you don't take... playing... your role... seriously enough.

Does anyone else see the irony? Bagging on someone for roleplaying... in an RPG?

No really. Pure 6 for acting like an NPC and 6 more for the Obi-Wan Kenobi complex. Carver is batshit crazy. He's not some roleplaying hero from the ancient past clad in gleaming mail and girt with a mighty blade come to restor dignity to the realms of Arda. He's a nerdy guy that takes pretending to be some ranger in Lothlorien faaaaar too seriously.

Any log of Carver getting killed is a pure 6. This ugly creature is the worst thing that ever happened to the roleplay on this MUD -- by not only ruining the fun himself but also by dragging other mindless followers into his accursed path.

For note: idle talk while in the midst of combat is _not_ roleplay. And neither is playing mimes and whining that someone else actually tries to defeat an enemy.
