Player Kill

Dwarves live in a clan-structured society. Hostilities between rivaling houses are fairly common. The beginning of a great alliance? Or bloody war.. > Nethcal meets a Runefist <

My comment was in response to Eredir's suggestion that we 'let [newbs] into their guilds and train them up'; activity requirements are not of foremost concern. Don't shed any tears on my behalf.

Secret guilds are subject to the same activity requirements as public guilds atm. Not their fault they can't stay secret very well.

Yeah, it is odd when a 'secret' guild complains about not having members. Recruitment is a two way street. You have to ask people and let the masses know that you are intersted in getting members before anyone will ever show up.

Except for those oddballs that take guilds *shrugs*.

To be fair... Tevildo DOES do what you're describing.

One time when I was younger he even tried to recruit me :P

Or approach newbies, rather than the odd gossip post. If you see someone about regularly, approach them. Rather than sit on your high horse and wait for soemone to ask about the guild (Yours as I remeber is supposed to be a SECRET guild, so how are they going to know about it?), just ask them what thier plans are on guilds etc. Its all very well waiting for someone to apply and then treating them like shit for a few months until you think they are ready to join, but you don't get many memebers that way!

I'd recruit newbies if any of them showed a shred of potential, Eredir. The few who do tend to get snapped up by these eternaclans and then go inactive when the clan starts to decline. What are we supposed to do, stand at Bree recruiting all day?

Eredir you're right. As for Tlaloc's statements, some are true and some are not. The lack of old farts sucks, but a lot of them are coming back. I just like Tlaloc to refrain from overgeneralizing about ERs (I guess when you say ERs you mean both sFRs and ERs). The guild that i'm in for example, is still full of old players, half of them do play and w do a good bit of roleplaying, especially in South Gondor. I just don't think that all the ERs can be grouped into one large group.

The problem is old players call teh new players 'noobs' and harras/kill them for fun. Rather than let them into their guilds and train them up!

But Im all in favour of killing Quickblades!

Tlaloc, now you are rude. ;)

I agree with alot of your statements here but it's not all based on lack of old farts.

Azer, the problem is not with the newbie guilds - they are actually one of the cool things in Arda. Some of them make this MUD look at least a little Tolkien-like, others are just cute and make you wanna log on to see some nice emotes.

Yes, there is a problem with all guilds. Yes, they are lame, yes, they have nothing to do with what used to be. But look around - the problem is within the old guilds, it's not outside. Look at BKD - you know what scum you have to deal with to achieve what you have achieved with BKD. BKD still holds but I'm wondering until when. Too much idiots play this MUD, you can't fend them off forever - you had such cases recently, right?

What happened with FRA? What happened with Rimsilval? With Meglivornth? With the old Valacirca????

I'll tell you what - no Direkein, no Ketan, no Vallejo, no Mizrahi, no Devon, no Herualda, no Barazbund, no Khralek, no Ardilion, no Wally.....

On the other hand we have a bunch of whiners in THE OLD GUILDS. The problem is that the players suck in general. Stop picking on the newbs and let's kill the whiners! That's what I mean by 'evil scum', Kubar. The riot ERs may be no good but the rest are a joke.

It's not always for sport eh, Tlaloc. Sometimes your enemies get chosen for you. There's a bigger picture here, we'll see what happens after the weekend.

What a funny comment by Tlaloc 'exterminate evil scum.' He's makin' friends with half the riot ERs and the ones that unserve. I take it that riot ERs aren't evil scum, they're just the good evils right?

Azer, it's below your skills to pick on Quickblades. It's like me going to the 5th grade and beating up all the kids. Make them worship you or something and let's start exterminating the evil scum.

Hard to say, that would presume that I didn't trigger for anything. And he was blind as a bat, Surprised he didn't head for his innroom in adornas honestly. You're right about one thing though, he did deserve to die.

Could have easily survived, deserves to die for running from Edoras with HP to break.
