We can bump this discussion up to the thread on one of the more recent kills...
It started when 3 typists of Black Hand, who each happened to have low ranking Durm characters, used separate non-Durm characters and attacked some BkDs and I think a VC. Their non-Durm characters had no contact with Durms, did not use the Durm guildhall, or use Durm equipment before BkD declared war on Durm. They were completely separate. Balzamon demanded that I immediately expel all three low ranking Durm characters because of what their alts had done. I said we could work out a solution, but I'd need to talk with all three typists about possible rectification first. Balzamon refused and immediately declared war. In fact, while we were even discussing this, Regorn attacked Kvedulf and Winnetou.
Balzamon's argument is that Torah, a level 18 character with maxed stats, skills, and relatively low fines; Kosher, a 34 day old character; and Goomboo, almost 4 days old and a warrior; are all throwaway characters made for the purpose of spree killing and newbie killing. Never mind that they only killed characters level 17 and over or that about 80 percent of the people they killed were in BkD. Or that they paid their fines. All of these things are very inconsistent with short-term spree killing characters.
On the other hand, I am in no way defending their actions. I think that all out attacks outside of guild wars are a waste of everyone's time, especially when it's experienced PKers killing people who they know aren't even going to try to hunt break. It's a waste of gold for the killer and a waste of stats/skills for the victim. And often it leads to someone making mountains out of molehills like this.
Now... I don't blame Balzamon for starting a war because people in his guild tell him they need a war. I think Balzamon's a nice guy, but he's just new at this whole GM thing. Nobody wins in a war like this, which is why it should have never started.

It's a 3. A nice solo, not some lame 5-man bang, so it fits in with most other standard pk logs around here.

I must admit, I had decided to become less strict about ratings until Nicuramar had some free time to separate rating blocks from comment blocks. I also haven't had much free time to follow the rating patterns of people.
However, thanks to Sicarius' well said request and ever-vigilant attitude, the recent ratings have been reviewed and Panayoti, Dvalin, Saurus, Kelevra, Regorn, Derk and Gizmalin have received warnings.
I'm still pondering over the source of Sicarius' eternal knowledge of who is warned and who is not.
Great PKills aren't always great logs. Most great pk logs should be rated a 3.

Dvalin, you know, you don't have to rate every log in which your guildmates die a 1 on principle. It's not betraying/supporting your guild to fork out loads of bogus ratings, it just makes logpage ratings mean even less than they did.
Dvalin appears to have declared war on the logpage rating system.
