Maybe it was Armand's idea? It wouldn't be surprising based on his quotes from that log that was removed. 'I'll do everything I can until durmanhoth are disbanded' etc. I love conspiracies.

Just for the sake of accuracy, this change was announced.

    From 'updates':

09/18/07 - Mathias : Some of the wandering men and women south of

Minas Tirith have had their races defined more accurately.

Please 'align' again to ensure that there is no confusion!

I dunno whether the announcement was made at the time of the change, but there it is.

Aduial: 'But of course we all know the dirs from one grid npc to the next, how could we not?'

Actually, I've golded by hand so long there, I can name patches where NPCs have a very high probability of appearing and exactly how many :P

The change happened the day before. I haven't killed a single NPC this reboot, however, I had 50k in KRs. He posted that after we talked to him and showed him that it was not stated.

So in essence, the change happened about 12 hours or so before reboot.

Delkin, I wouldn't say my comment contains so much hate. What I feel is a strong dislike for excessive whining and attempts to appear personally victimized by others for no good reason. I find that Manni's comments are abundant in just those two things, and hence my post might appear to you to be hateful. While I fully agree that it sucks that changes were made, and that they weren't announced, and that this hurt you, I really don't think what Manni is doing is the right way to deal with this. But I suppose it's his way, and I reserve the right to ridicule or dislike his ways.

So what was the pressing need to turn these old women from the more populous race of commoners into the rare race of distinguished men?

I'm pretty confident that many of the people who kill in the Gondor grid have been snoop logged for much of the time that they've killed there. Best to leave this stuff to admins who have slog access and not to lower level maiar to draw conclusions from.

If you didn't catch where I was going with that, here: you're being pathetic :p nobody cares about you. Get over it. Maybe finally your whole guild stops botting their asses off, I've lost count of the names I've hunted around there botting. But sure, nobody bots! They just move around really fast, loot and start moving right after the npcs has died, and then stop at the next npc without overshooting the dirs to it. But of course we all know the dirs from one grid npc to the next, how could we not? Whiner. Oh no, now we actually have to move away from gh and from npcs which barely hit us and HIT BUTTONS to make gold! Good grief, how will we survive? Yeah it really sucks that you racked up fines before realizing it and that nobody ever told you, but shit happens. Get over it and quit being an idiot. Changes in the mud do not revolve around you, surprise surprise.

Durmanhoth is basically telling the world they bot off those gridmons with all this whining. If you're actually controlling your char, Linhir is obviously more profitable.

Ainur conspire against Manni :( It must all be a big plot because he is so important to them, such a thorn in their side, everything possible must be done to hurt him, and nothing else matters. Poor Manni.

No offense man, I'm sure Kvedulf isn't the only one. None of my business man but.... It is bullshit. We should all get updates on that sort of stuff on guild boards.

  • Author

I mean, this could be where it stems from, since those frivolous claims that Kvedulf was botting when he was banged by BkD. I fully support botters being punished, whether they're my friends or not. But changing the race of an NPC to something that doesn't even make sense is not the way to go about setting things right.

Actually I should post something about Turin listening to Luthien (my theory) and changing the race on half the gridmons around my guildhall that they know my guild uses almost exclusively to gold on... So their race was changed to a kill restricted race for my guild.

I could continue that mcromanaging of rules to drive out players that Turin didn't personally like was the reason that EoTW failed and actions of similar ill intention should be shunned and halted on T2T as quickly as possible.

I mean you've got Bill the Pony, William, Bert and Tom the trolls. NPC after NPC with ridiculous names. And most outrageous of all - high ranking admins called Spoonster. What the hell happens to a person when they take on a moderating position on the internet? Are they inducted into some kind of secret society whose secret plan is to stupify the Information Generation by dumbfounding them with idiocy on the internet thus clearing the way for world domination?

FFS, they forced my chat character, Greg, to namechange because his name was 'unthematic.' Nevermind that it's a four year old character with an established purpose and a history. Nevermind that we have characters with names like 'Deathmatch' and 'Lordevil' running around. I login for two minutes to try and catch up with some friends, and bullshit like this happens. Someone ought to knock the seven shades of shit out of that cretin Khelban.

I didn't read the log, but I'm sure it's good because Obair died.
