Player Kill

I take Tuomas to do flail, and start playing a silly online game while he's doing it. Beautiful rescue attempt by him later on but it's kinda hard when I'm not looking. ;)

I realize it's hard for you to believe someone actually doesn't care because (from all your log page comments and the way you talk/play on the mud) you care to a point where I, along with others, seriously doubt your mental stability, but try. :p It's actually possible.

The amusing part is how ever time you get called on being retarded you pretend you really don't care, when the effort to act so disinterested is more than enough evidence to see you're a goof :P

If I knew I needed to afk in Mordor, I used to wait by my keyboard for five minutes without touching it so as to make sure I was unattackable, then go for a piss/drink/whatever. Although, in the grander scheme of things that's probably more pathetic than being idlekilled and whining about it. :P

The thing is Berzelius, if it was 5 years ago, I would have believed you 100%. Nowdays, hardly any players really care about the towers except a rare select few. Before, I would get pissed off at dying, I would go around making gold to do stupid things with it, I would help newbies get addicted to the mud :) Now, I wouldn't invest more than a couple hours here and there maybe make up a stupid (fun) quest or event and do it but never more than something that is merely superficial. Thats all the towers is anymore anyways, superficial. It would need a massive change and additional to the pbases and abases to fix this. Something in these wanning (SP?) years that doesn't seem possible.

I was inadvertently idle killed once in Mordor too, but you know. Running the stairs again (Lair was less effort) just cause you had to go to the loo kinda sucked. Or getting to BRD camp. :D

Okay so laziness will kill ya. But it's all good. Also, having people attack you in Mordor was just part of the fun, so I'm still glad people cared enough to try. Oh well.. now I gotta dash.

Berz, I still have the mudmail where you said you'd never attack me again that you sent me five days before you kill me. And don't just say you were protecting Redbull, because you deliberately focused, stabbed, and hunted me because I had a C.

    http://logs.dyndns.dk/viewer.php/11571

Also, I think that you saying that I was a moron was when I reported you for both kills when you were obviously never going to keep your word and pay me back. You call that moronic?

Of course it's stupid to idle in the open, more stupid to idle in the open with a C, and even more stupid to idle in lawless lands with a C. It's amusing nonetheless to me that I was there for 15-20 mins earlier waiting for a tick then went back to GH when it didn't reset, then came back and looked away for some 3-4 mins and got idlekilled. :p Really no idea how traitor ERs works these days, didn't know they walk around like that and nobody cares about them and therefore didn't expect someone to get to me that easy and fast. Gotta move with the times I guess, like somebody said.

I was wasted IRL and showed contrition, as you've mentioned. I didn't pay you because I found out you're an absolute moron. My alt was idle-killed the other day, its dirty, and it sucks, but Etrius is right, idling in the open is retarded if you have a contract/are in a war. And Korgan, yes, that is debatable :P

Berzelius, you so soon forget your alt taking over 30 rounds to kill me without me doing anything at ethring for a 2k contract, then apologizing, promising to pay me back and never attack me again, and then killing me two days later and never paying back? Haha!

By the way, Cruice, did you really write that 5-paragraph comment? There were only two misspellings! Of course, it IS Mordor, and not even just Mordor, but BD, so I don't think this is a great example of a horrible idle-kill.

Clients have nothing to do with any of this, the people that were great pkers because of their mappers have been inactive for a very long time. You're right about three things though, too much healing, lame backstabs, and not enough talented players. And its a damn shame for you that the best today would be the best at any time, and they're not the people you like :(

Raznakh, one of the biggest problems nowdays is this, all those bad people's... in the old days it was actually possible to regulate it much easier with the mud community back then. People got out of whack they got jacked bad by several of the better players. Nowdays, there are not many people left to regulate this so such said pieces of shit have no controls on them. Its not a solution I realize, but its the straight truth. This isn't helped by two additional facts. A: There is enough healing in the game now and with the change in backstab, a nun could figure out how to outheal a party damage from mordor to rhos; B: The generic dispersement of clients amoungst the said assholes in question. (Now granted B can be taken advantage of a little bit but if they modify something like a quest or alias to make it better all of them have it not just one which is better overall than the small glitches you can screw them with)

On a quick seperate note:Honestly, it would be interesting to see the ainur enforce a couple of boots with character cooldown log ins between their alts. Interesting to see the results at least.

Well, I just decided to get a name on here so I can hopefully eaze the situation. First of all I don't show favoratism in mordor, you can ask Ravathir if I have attacked him before, which I have, and Zaellyer idles more than he kills in mordor so I haven't seen him there yet. If I had the log of killing Lethe I would post to show you just how many times I legend him before we decided to attack.

By the time I realized that Lethe was idle we were well into the fight and did not see a purpose of mercifuling a contract kill. Also, Tuomas if I were just out for easy and free kills would I not have stabbed you and hunted along with gizmalin to kill you also?

Everyone only wants to see it from their point of view not ours. I am not picking at anyone or 'flaming', I am simply discussing my side of the story.

I protect mordor yes and I also gave up any mercy I show towards evils who simply would not help in my time of need, just because the person in mordor is in a different guild. I don't see a point of RoI hitlisting for mordor attacks when I do not hunt a fair amount of their guildmates while they are in CU. As those two do not glance at this log page very often, they cannot vouge for me.

You two simply over reacted from a simple contract kill. I don't believe in pshycics and I am also not one myself, but if I legend someone and see them aging I assume they are actually playing. Sorry I showed any kind of sign of being a human by making a mistake.

Actually Jaron, I'd imagine it would be much easier if you knew the people IRL. Assuming a person would never be friends with someone who took a MUD extremely seriously, it'd probably just be like.. 'haha nice job killing me in Mordor today' and then they'd all laugh it off.

I do protect it from everyone! Although if I really like a person I might give them 30seconds to leave before I attack.

Don't lump me in with Cruice and Gizmo.

Anyways, and this is a general rule for life, once you hit about 12 years old you begin to understand that there are bad people in the world who don't care about rules, don't care about morals and don't care about anyone but themselves. Now, we all hate these people and their actions but that does not stop them from being who they are and doing what they do. So you need to take precautions to protect yourself from people like this. In this case, sure idle killing is lame. But people are going to do it. If you don't want to be idle killed don't idle somewhere you can be attacked (If it's at all possible. We've all had to answer a knock at the door, a phone-call, get something out of the oven etc while we play).

  • Author
    Tuomas [legacy]
    At
    13 January 2008 21:31:24

Yeah but see, the thing is neither of us expected that an FR assassin would try to kill us in Mordor. The only ER assassins on were Gizmalin and Cruice and seeing their recent proclamation as defenders of Mordor, one would assume they would leave a loyal servant of Sauron alone or better yet, help them out.

I knew who Cruice's alt was, and obviously I don't exactly like his typist. However, I was willing to go help him out. He's already shown he's incapable of separating characters though, as his defense of Mordor was already extremely selective seeing as he left people like Ravathir and Zaellyer alone in Mordor.

So if any of you 'protecters of Mordor' decide to attack any of my characters in Mordor, you can be sure I'll bring it outside and I hope everyone else will do the same. Sure we all knew it was an excuse from the start but I thought it might be a bit of fun if you protected it from EVERYONE. I mean, I told you myself, Raznakh, to go attack my FR in Mordor and I'd have no problems with it. If your 'friends' can't respect you separating your characters, they're not very good friends. Or if you just can't separate characters, don't make alts and carry on tasks like this.

You tell Tuomas: you'll have to do [some stuff]

HP:230 EP:230 MOR> You hear an orcish voice nearby: ug, kaz squeetokl orgari.

You hear an orcish voice nearby: cza, orqcza' unth olk kaz toth.

    Hideous bat flies in.

The bat circles about above your head.

    Tuomas tells you: oks

The bat dives towards your head and then flies back up.

The bat circles about above your head.

The bat circles about above your head.

The bat swoops up towards the ceiling.

Tuomas tells you: they just attacked me :P meh

The bat dives towards your head and then flies back up.

In these lawless lands, no crimes can be reported.

    You are attacked by someone!

So, what Cruice is trying to tell me, is that this hideous bat would fly in, and do six emotes, all in less than 30 seconds? Quite the spammy NPC if he's emoting less than every 5 seconds!

I would leave Gizmalin alone ND if he's idle in BD. I would probably stay around until he unidles though, and try to get him. Oh, and breaking two people from BD is pretty easy, there's more than enough breaks around that area for ER's to break at. I mean, I (typist) remember being attacked by Fyng in BD when I had 25hp after the backstab, I had no healing and no armour, and yet I survived, and that was as FR.

The thing is, I doubt almost anyone that wants to kill Jizmalin and his friends would not IK them in general, mordor or not. Noone in their right mind would show them any care or grief because they basically do not deserve any whatsoever and will never comprehend why this is the case. But, Raznakh, I do know assassins (at least 3-4) that at least did play recently, that would stop an idle kill right away. In fact I have been part of parties that have left a person alone instead of IK'ing them when they were ND. These parties generally were after a C or a personal take down. Just some thoughts I guess.

2: If memory served the contract was for 3k. So, meh nobody will be snorting coke from the asscrack of a showgirl tonight.

    %% Deago: want some crayons?

%% Tuomas: And of course your pathetic excuse of protecting Mordor isn't

    going to work anymore

    %% Lethe: Posted!

%% Cruice: here let me post when I legend you 20 times before the

    attack

    %% Tuomas: Have fun

%% Tuomas: If I wasn't so lazy, I'd find the log of some BkD killing an ER

in caras, then turning merciful on when he realized that he was idle.

    I think it was Memic.

%% Tuomas: Can't expect that from a herkie though :P

%% Lethe: Ok maybe not, forgot all the quest info in there.

%% Deago: Tuomas, whats that mean?

    %% Deago: Herkie?

%% Deago: Your labeling a whole damn place

    %% Deago: you kidding me?

    %% Tuomas: Nope

%% Tuomas: Obviously there's always exceptions

%% Deago: the what the hell is a herkie?

%% Deago: then dont use it like that

%% Deago: I honestly take offense to it

%% Tuomas: A mysterious species of man with questionable intelligence

arising from a place called Herkimer

%% Tuomas: I'm sorry if you do, but they've got quite the reputation on

    here

%% Deago: oh yeah, thats right... I completly forgot

%% Deago: You know what...I'm really going to let this go

%% Deago: It's really people like you who allow others to just not

    enjoy the game

%% Deago: I'm done here, and your a piece of shit

    %% Tuomas: rotfl

    %% Tuomas: ahaha

Once again, like always.. I apologize to the few kickass people who were unfortunate enough to be raised in Herkimer. But honestly, we all know how much the majority of them fucked up the playerbase.
