I see no problem with that in a thematic aspect. Quite the oposite infact. He killed a pirate but in the process his own sword was broken. He then picked up the dead pirates own sword and killed even more pirates with there own kind of weapon.
It wouldn't be really thematic would it? A knight running around with a pirate's sword(THEY ARE ARCH RIVALS LOL).

Well if you want TOTAL fairness and balance there is two way togo. Either nerf everything and as soon as something pops up you nerf the shit out of it. Or over balance everyting, if everything is too good no one will die and it would be all good :)
Pounder tusk got nerfed bad at the end for the BP era just as PBS did, actualy i thing PBS got nerfed not long after Amearn killed you while you were drunk with whip on the Endless Stairs :P
Much much stronger stuff. Although tusk is still OK, double handed weapons are basically the entire downfall to any one handers with a few exceptions.

Ice staff had a much longer tenure as the awesome sauce pk weapon than most normal weapons actually. Tusk was overridden pretty fast but man was that awesome days when people would kill people for the tusk?:)
