The log itself wasn't a great read in Aeldor's case, just the fact he went to the effort and actually pulled the damn thing off.
Apparently people also didn't notice exactly what he'd done which probably influenced the rating more than the other bit if they never read the comments.
I agree that the Aeldor vs Syra and Aryl log was good, but I wouldn't class it with Bap vs Bak/Berz or other classics like Spike divides. For the SoB vs bang log, do you mean the one with Barazbund vs the Durm bang party? Because if you do, the Durms just wimpied out, none died.

I think Agsded's right. Winnetou's style may make him look like a complete chumps at times (liek when he dies 3 times in the same lock), but when it actually works out you end up with some of the most interesting pks on the page, like the one he's just posted or the one I think is still on the all time top.
I've said it before, and since then nothing has caused me to change my opinion: Winnetou is one of the best PKers in the game. The only way anyone can justify a contrary opinion (and many of my friends have tried; I'm sorry, but you're just wrong) is through holding double standards or through personal malice. Mornaner has a strong likelihood of being better, Aeldor is comparable. I have PKed, attempted, been attempted by, been killed by, and PKed with Winnetou in a number of contexts and it's disingenuous to say he isn't at the very least among the best still on the game.

I've never really been in a guild that had thieves, but to the extent that I've been around thieves I've never met one which didn't rob from NPCs they were supposed to protect. In fact, I think the only way guilds get around that are by simply not having thieves (ie VC). So... I dunno, if you indict Myrddin's RP _for robbing moral NPCs_, the same argument applies to, for example, RoI. And I'm pretty sure (though I haven't really been around the evil guilds) the thieves in Udungul, CoU, and SoU don't leave BD tower alone.
There are many avenues to assault Myrddin and his guild's RP, but I don't think their theft history is really a good one to do it on.

As someone who has been playing for about a year, I'm going to call myself a newbie.
Speaking from that position, yes there is.
Many of the quests that so many find boring are totally new to me, and so I still get that pleasure of figuring something out and feeling like the first one to ever do it (at least for a few moments).
I still enjoy the fun and challenge of building and crafting a character, particularly because the world is so diverse and thus my character is constantly growing and changing.
Those are the two things that drew me into Two Towers, having first discovered muds last summer at a time when apparently they were a dying breed. I still really enjoy these things, as well as many of the people I've gotten to know here, and that's what makes it worthwhile or magical for me.
At least for the oldies like us, yeah there's no magic left. I wonder if the magic is there for the newbies nowadays though, like it was there when we started.
