Darkness surrounds you.
    As you stand in the main hall of the barracks, you notice the walls 
are made of stone.  There is a painting hanging on one wall.  The floor
is made of wood.  Judging by the cleanliness, the housekeeper must be
doing her job.  Candles placed on the walls provide light to the room.
After standing here a moment, you notice a smell from the east, the smell
of something cooking.  There is a sign and a board on the wall next to
the painting with information for the guards.
The south door is locked.
    The only obvious exits are west, east and south.

to the sleeping quarters to the north. To the south you see a doorway 
with a sign next to it. You can smell something cooking in there, 
smells like burning flesh.
