I've actually met Osse, in RL when he came over to england. I believe I was still immorted at the time but I'm not 100% sure. He's one of the nicest guys I've met from the people I've met online. He's also one of the fairest.
I'll admit he has similar views (or had anyway) to me about what is legal/illegal when playing on the mud. If his views even slightly resemble the views of the other powers/makers (and I'm pretty sure they do) all they want is to produce a game which everyone loves to play (I'm sure you will all admit this is an impossible task, you cannot please everyone). They (and some of us) are putting forth real money into advertising a game (to get more players) they make a loss to keep running.
That is, as far as I am concerned, above and beyond the call of duty. Noone pays to play the game (some of us donate, but we don't have to), yet they still want more people playing. Don't bitch at some of the oldest, and yes wisest (Osse was Power of Law/Admin before most of the people on this logpage even started playing) players/admin. You might question their tactics, you might question their motives (people say Melkor was a tyrant, I actually got on pretty ok with Melkor during my Mortal -> Ainur interactions with him), but you cannot question their dedication to the mud.
tireless, i suggest you have a conversation with osse. i don't pretend to know what's inside the head of the admins. i repeat what i have been told by them directly.
