guilds lost their value because of their sheer number. In the good old days, when activity and population in the mud was at it peak, there was an obvious desire to join guilds because they were not even half the number of guilds currently around, and being a member of a guild meant a lot. 'douchebags' who make their guilds become targets rarely ever stayed in that guild because it meant that much to have 2 guilds pissed at each other. There should be limitation on number of guilds to reflect the current activity and population. If guilds are limited, then the current stupid pk system will be defected and newbie killers will not be so popular as they are now:p

I have to agree that the 'throw shit against the wall and see what sticks' approach to forming/reforming a guild is tacky in the extreme. A guild should grow from a central theme; the theme is not something that should be tacked on after the fact. It's not there for appearances. It IS the guild, or should be.

A suggestion: If you're looking to post a log just to embarrass a GM and not to brag about the log, try combining many newbie/idle kills into one big honking log and post that. That way the kills are still seen by the public and people who don't want to be spammed by logs they think are shitty don't have to read if they don't want to (or at the very least only have to see 1 log desc that they dislike).

Or continue doing what you're doing now to stick your thumb in the eye of people who criticize you for doing it. I don't care either way, just trying to offer a suggestion :P

I really hope the ainur disband a guild rather than let them completely change theme, location, and name. Why? Because at that point they're not even the same guild.

he is trying to post his progress as he becomes a 'better pker' would be my opinion. for the most part i have to agree idlekills and newbie kills should not be posted reason for him not putting rating or comments on them

Their name is stupid, but I wouldn't have said that their theme was all that terrible. To me at least, the idea of a band of moral dwarves operating near Belegost is more plausible than megalomaniacs in Fangorn, or the Cosa Nostra living under MT.

That's what I said, but in about 100 less words! :p

Point is, if a guild is stupid enough to host someone who continually fails at the political game, then that guild will correspondingly fail at the political game as well, and subsequently deserve the backlash.

So it was with PoT anyway. I can't speak on this issue yet!

It's not unfair. That's a consequence you have to pay for joining a guild and affiliating yourself with them. Haarni, it's not like they're gonna make it past the guild review. If they do, what the fuck was the point in having a guild review in the first place?

Hmmm... I disagree. This game has a rich political backdrop.

Guilds that fail at the political game are often guilds that host (and cannot control) players who enjoy being douchebags. By douchebag, I mean players that have no problem jeapordizing those around them, most significantly in circumstances where those others are relatively weak.

The answer to backlashes against noobs is not one where the blame is rightfully placed on any person or group who decides to seek that political retribution, but more accurately on the group that made the mistake of hosting a douchebag that's prone to causing such a mess in the first place.

Flags will weaken the political game, and undermine the only lawsys truly capable of affecting the douchebag (since gold is rarely an issue).

I think that waste is completely right about that.

That is the same thing agsded or some of his other alts did to PoT, because of smoky, and i think it's unfare.

I am not in Udungul anymore, when Akbar told me that he would war me any day I left the guild, as a peace agreement is in place between QB and Udungul. This peace agreement, though, was not held up by QB. When I had killed Ansatsusha for that contract, I was immediately pounced upon that I was jeopardizing the agreement between QB and Dungs and Akbar also went apeshit. I, in return, gave Ansatsusha his gear back, and 2k, as well as paid my fines. Now, in an act of 'aiding their allies', as Akbar puts it, Proof and Azhan both killed me, and did not suffer any consequences. So, when I had asked if Akbar 'was sufficiently entertained yet, and if he wasn't I could produce more' (to paraphrase my tell), he said 'no! more!! actually kill Kyle again!' Which, I didn't because I feel that once is enough for a lowbie.

These logs are prime example of why the ainu should consider flagging the game. The killed guys here are clearly not the best pk'ers and even though i might be making an idiotic judgement as i have no idea how all this started, but i am guessing that these guys had no involvement in why Sadoc or whoever he represents decided to kill QB. Target those who upset you, rather than randomly kill anyone with any sort of alliance:P
