Mordor.
Vermond, if you're spending 1+ day of age on the MUD every month as a 'powerplayer', you might as well spend a bit of that time optimizing what you do. And spending that amount of time on the MUD really does not constitute not having a life. I had just as much of a life when I was aging 2d a month as I do now when I age 0d a month.
I think MUDing replaces time that most other people use for TV, video games, or alcohol. You could argue that optimizing your character or participating in a group MUDing activity is more creative than those other 'hobbies'.
Or you need to get a life and stop caring enough to test. Yes, that sounds like a good idea.
That was without healing, btw :P
Yeah, it depends, Tireless. Gory's probably a little better for solo fighting because of those double hits... But still probably not as good for PKing.
Testing with double hits and charges is tough to do in bulk because it's time consuming... And you need a lot of fights or a huge difference in damage done to be able to apply the Dave's Dad Theory of Large Numbers and draw a conclusion about the difference in damage.
Considering time between rounds is constant, DPS and DPR would amount to the same overall statistics. Like measuring a metre in terms of centimetres or inches.
How the heck do you use DPS in mud? Damage PER Second?? DPR is prolly what you where looking for. And i never correct people, but considering your ego i guess it could need a hit or two.
I soloed Elrond with a wooden sword. It was broken.
I twomanned elrond with a gory and Aiglos :P
Gorynytch has beaten the hell out of what most would consider far better weapons. When it first came out I was told the second hits were purely cosmetic, but when I was fighting against it... the second hits do as much damage as the primary hits. In experimentation it does more dps than mels (that is, gory with no specials > mels with charge). Consistently.
manni r funny.
What does 'good for PKs' mean? Like how THE ICE STAFF IS AWESOME FOR BACKSTABS BECAUSE IT USES ALL CAPS?
its not, really... just the target had no clue whatsoever
I didn't think Gory was good for PKs either... but it's surprisingly effective.
blah... how come noobs pull out pks with Gory...
He had silver flask in cloak. I looted that before I looked at the corpse. The last part is edited after a couple tells trying to get someone there to loot.
Or failing that, bring some healing?
:( Don't quest in BD if you don't know how to break there.
