Mordhred... The auction is an amazing place to get gear. You could kill something tough like the sailors cutlass captain for a decent weapon... Or you could kill a linhir guard, losing the fraction of the HP, buy the cutlass, and have gold left over.

The only time this isn't advantageous for a powerplaying perspective is early in reboots or for super-premium gear.

Have to agree with Azhan here, there is perfect ways to protect yourself from being stolen from. If you play a thief char for real, not only for quick golding you will eventually learn this ways.

Ive had a thief steal from me from one try while i drank Gala's vial of awareness, Azhan. He had boosters as well of course, but thats what I am trying to say. Thief with adequent knowledge on whats there to do, will always have a chance to of getting your item no matter what you do. I stand by your point until one of you guys shows me a way. I do however understand why you wouldnt if you had discovered 'the perfect way' to keep it for yourself.

Eh, a person who knows how to defend himself from thieves at auction will never actually buy anything at all at auction. So this whole discussion is flawed and lacks purpose!

Waste, you are wrong :P If you can't figure out how to protect yourself while picking up at auction that just means you don't know what you're doing.

I know the perfect way, and I also know a slew of awareness boosting items that negate any thief bonuses. Sorry.

Its not a matter of complaining of being outsmartened, its a game, you win some and lose some. I have been a thief on a couple of characters before and once you accomodate yourself with all there is to know about auction stealing, theres no way for the opponent to pick up his stuff from auctioneer. Its rediculous considering that these items sell out for huge sums, and a thief with 80 theft and 70 stealth, can use 3 items to make it impossibel for you to stop him from stealing your item. And to all who say, noooo, theres a way to stop it, u are just full of it and you know that. Just because u managed to beat a thief once upon a time when he failed a steal doesnt mean u actually figured out the perfect way.

And nice log Azhan, its nice to see something more than the normal boring mundane pk log. Now I want to see you advance your abilities in the next log. :)

I agree with Azhan and twice. Daywalker, if you don't like theft logs, don't read them. This isn't the 'Only all of Daywalker's and Skyman's logs ever recorded' website.

when will they ever fix the auction stealing? There is no way to pickup an item from an auctioneer if a capable thief is waiting for it.

Isn't that the mistake made in every auction theft log?

I'm talking about this not firing the trigger:

-> Tingol picks up an item from auction

-> Tingol picks up an item from auction

Tingol picks up an item from auction

-> Tingol picks up an item from auction

    And this firing it:

Tingol picks up an item from auction**.**

Triggered! doing: steal globe from tingol

You steal the Globe of Protection!

If you want to nitpick, the description is actually 3 sentence fragments. There isn't a subject in the whole bit. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me ;)
