If you did it for this reason - a wopping 300, you did it for a wrong reason. Any decent thief does know how to make double or triple this ammount without bad feelings in the time it took you to steal from a player.

Well, to be honest the false reports thing was Colvens own fault, know how much gold you have on you when you go to the auction, know how much you're paying. Then you can work out if there was any cover steal (even better, take the exact amount to the auction, then they can't cover).
