This is the central area of the tower's courtyard. On one side stand the fearsome Watchers, guarding the entrance and exit from the compound, while on the other side are the massive doors that lead into the tower proper. The remnants of the recent battle are still evident here, although all of the bodies have been piled to the northwest. The doors to the tower are thrown wide open, and the re-fortification of the tower makes this quite a busy area. A thin layer of smoke from Mt. Doom is covering the sky. There is little sound save for the beating of your heart and the rap of your feet, which seems to grow to an echoing noise, like the slapping of great hands upon the stone slabs. It is void of any sort of furniture or ornament, but in the center is a hole with some rocks piled around it. It would seem that it is some sort of well, used by the orcs of Cirith Ungol for water. It is doubtful, however, just how fresh any water running through the Ephel Duath could be. The only obvious exit is south.
