    The inside of this caravan is a mess; goods are scattered all over 
the place.  Surprisingly, the vast majority of its contents are still 
here, indicating that looters are not the cause.  The canvas that provided 
the only protection from the elements of the outdoors is covered in 
slashes and tears, yet stubbornly it holds together to keep its shape over 
the caravan.  Looking around the floor, you see a messy pile of rags and 
cloth, and in a far corner sit two sacks that appear to be full.
    The only obvious exit is out.

    You are in the Harad Desert, a deadly corridor of sandy terrain
from which very few have returned.  The natural beauty of the sand is
striking with its reddish dunes, sculptured by the wind and stretching
as far as the eye can see to the horizon. The only vegetation that can
grow here are a few thorny shrubs usually surrounded by sparse rocks.
The few animals that survive in this climate must be constantly searching
for prey, which could easily include thirsty lost travelers.
The sky is black and the stars shine down brightly.
