My post about not giving a shit about estraven probably went too far, IF I actually cared about a game long past its prime. Since I do not care about the game like I once used to, and since I don't really think its worth any time anymore, I really can't say I honestly care about the players in it anymore either. Most wouldn't recognize me if I played as an alt now as opposed to a while back when I played on the mud all the time as Pounder (and no, I mean if someone changed pounder's name to something else people would know it was still me even if age was disguised etc). This not caring is only true of course for those I didn't know IRL. And its ironic, but I wish I had actually knew Formid better. I am pretty sure we would have gotten along quite well in the mud. Anyways, the mud's main draw (diversity/uniqueness/amazing characters/fun) are all gone and even the old personalities that still play are now only a mere shadow of what they used to be. That's something I used to care about for sure, hence the long post. But alas, the mud is now simply a text based wow/quake, so there is no reason to care for it, there are much better things out there now.

When the logpage index was down for an extended period of time, I created a small scraper for the site, mainly so I could get a 'real' index page working for the mud crowd (since logs could still be posted you wouldn't get the link for them).
Around the same time I realised that the log page might not be around for ever, so I scraped the entire thing and converted the html back to ANSI (barring one log comment which was hand crafted by nicu to be a load of html chars).
After I did that I spent about a day or two (as a professional programmer that is literally all it takes, it's not a particularly hard site) creating a log page of my own. I still have the code but when nicu fixed the index page I realised he was still around and I didn't want to create a competitor to the log page, merely a replacement if such a time came that nicu no longer wished to run it. If he ever decides to stop running it then I can always push up a replacement within about 48 hours, assuming he allows me to I can repost the ALL the logs, if not then each individual player will have to contact me and I can automatically post the logs they had posted. Since I don't play anymore (at all really) then there is no ulterior motive about me getting IP addresses and I'd be quite happy to reinstate the current moderators as I think they do a fairly decent job of staying impartial in the face of a small minority of idiots.
The mud does not have enough players to support 2 log pages to be honest, as long as this log page is still around it's the only one I'll check, and if you've managed to get yourself barred from here, then it's your own fault and your own problem, I suspect I'm not the only one who thinks this, so if you want to create your own log page, thats fine.
Actually, I was just messing around. Unless a DA takes a million to one odds on a mud log site copying another log site or this site suddenly has thousands of dollars to waste on a cease and desist order, you would know I was just ripping on their pathetic ass website as not being the original. And obviously, when I referrence IP address recording, I am not referring to alts. Why in the hell would I ever be worried about alt information?

If you really consider everything, the real place logs should be put for safety and fairness is on the towers site. Have them add ratings and assign mods limited powers. They already could figure out alt information via normal ainur methods. But this place was the original.
Oh yeah, one other thing, when people actually know something is better, they just go to it and don't linger. See TNT as an example, noone from TNT ever went back to the mud and bragged. Some played both because of friends etc, but I know for sure at least 80% on TNT never bothered looking back. Unfortunately the person that shouldn't have ever looked back was Castamir and he unfortunately gave in like a weakling and ruined the best chance of awesome days, community and old people coming back for real.
