I'm saying that there was no way for him to know he was contracted, and so he was semi-afk killing things without knowing there was any threat. That's all.

He didn't have an 'official' contract, and even if he did he probably wouldn't have the kind of assassin connections that will notify him about it.

I would kill someone for a contract when they're afk. Going afk in the open is running a risk; risk-taking while contracted has a high likelihood of biting you in the ass.
