Myrddin, there are like... 6 places where you can be falling in the MUD, and you fall for a few seconds in each. The likelihood that anyone will be falling there and unfairly die horribly low, except at whip. And whip has always been that way, I think.
So now anyone falling anywhere when the MUD decides to crash suffers death losses, instead of just punishing the assholes who abuse it (along with everything else they possibly can).
Yeah, there's a log somewhere of everybody 'coincidentally' going linkdead right at the same time after going over the edge. Because of that they made it so going linkdead/quitting out while falling anywhere makes you die when you log back in.
