    Sauron's Road continues to rise to the east as it approaches the Ash
Mountains and the Tower of Barad-dur, and drop to the west as it runs
toward Mount Doom.  To the east, what looks like it might be the low line
of a chasm cuts across the high ground from north to south.  You stand at
an intersection of sorts in the road.  A path runs to the north.  Another
trail, obviously not constructed at the same time, leads south.  The path
to the north looks fairly smooth and level, while the trail heading south
looks very steep and tough to climb.
