Backstabbing is rather weak eh? Well, those herks seem to enjoy it; Sean especially! And I don't mean a weapon-stabbing-from-behind type combo, unless your weapon is your wiener.
This is just my opinion. Which matters way more than Cruice's ever did/will.
This is a serious debate? Backstab is awesome as it is, how much easier do you want it? :P
1. Fireball takes 3 rounds of combat to cast during which it can be disabled in a number of ways.
2. Fireballs will only do 100 damage if the target has 0 RM, which is kind of like testing backstab damage on someone with 0 dodge and defense. I'm sure in that situation most stabs with a pk-worthy weapon would be doing close to the same damage.
Also, backstabs with a standard decent weapon will almost always do more damage than 'a few shivs' with a standard bootknife, which seem to hit for about 15-20hp.

Fireball is really not a legit argument generally in PVP. Nor are most casting spells of any type except ones that you can do while moving. But with poison like you and your friends always use, you are doing something close to 100 instant damage on the stab with these special weapons. + hb + etc because they aren't prof only attacks.
Backstab is rather weak in my opinion, unless you are using specific weapons, like Twilight Dagger or Morimacil. Considering you only get one backstab, it should at least compare to a few headbutts, feints, or shivs. Fireball can do 100 or more on several occasions, and be casted multiple times.
Backstab is the only special assassins have and a lot of times it can be rather weak.
That's just my opinion. Not like it matters much.
And to my knowledge, warrior stabs that hit with cleaver still hurt a rediculous amount but it could have been changed recently as well.
Its actually MUCH better in most ways. You can time it correctly to actually get a nearly double immediate hit instead of 2 normal hits. And as others say, it hits always unless you fall on your ass. The only reduced effect on BS is that you only get one super heated hit.
good thing is you cant get a 'miss' on your first hit once you have landed a successful backstab. that's the only good thing, i believe.

Well I went from 200hp to 1hp in one round from a cleaver and flamer stab back in multiple backstab days. You'd have to think at least 75hp of that came from the cleaver stab.
Agreed with Cruice, cleaver always sucked for stab.
It was already nerfed, and cleaver backstab isn't good, and never was I don't think.
So people don't even stab with cleaver anymore, can that shitty dagger be nerfed already?
