Anyway, about the rest of your tirade... You see, Douglas, this logpage is like an arena where many people go mostly to throw shit at each other. Some people are better at throwing shit than others, some target specific individuals, etc. By entering it, you basically accept that the likelihood of shit ending up on your person is pretty good (depending how good you are at dodging). Now, you are welcome to throw that shit back and join the 'fun', but, surprisingly, this arena has some unwritten rules about the quality of shit being thrown. It's a standard people adhere to. So when you start throwing sub-quality shit, people turn on you to show that they do not approve. While Kharaan threw more shit than anyone recently, and a good portion in your direction, the rest deemed it as passing the arena standards. Your shit doesn't.

In order to have top 20 log, you first need to have an adequate rating system, moderators banning idiots like Wezner and Cruice from rating ever log their enemy posts with 1. Long ago, when none of those losers existed, there were administrators actually enforcing that.
After that, you need to have 1 player vote only with 1 character.
Then, the whole picture will be quite different.
But this log page is nothing but a board to place your recent kill for your friends to see. Rating? Top? bah, forget about it...

I suspect that the very existence of this webpage has contributed, at least in part, to a decline in the quality of playerkilling. In times gone by, you had to explore yourself and develop your own knowledge; which led to more individual and nuanced playstyles. Nowadays, a few hours of trawling these archives can teach you more or less everything you need to watch out for.
The STS quest, for example, was not widely known as a lockup for many years. Then someone posted it on here, and even mediocrities like Anselmo were dragging people there like they were hot shit. The same with the glass. A few nifty logs got thrown up here and then every Tom, Dick and Harry was using it like a superstar. It, like so many other things, was nerfed because of overuse which came through overpublication. It existed for years before some bright spark just couldn't resist the urge to jack off over seeing their name in the top twenty. It took the mystery out of this game. Everybody that ever whored themselves out to this webpage, Winnetou being no exception, has only themselves to blame.

There's a problem here. (Yes, the game is 16 years old, in text and the problem is you)
If you look at the logs of playerkillings in the past, and especially the comment sections, it appears people really managed to find innovative ways to pk. Something that hadn't been done before. Be it using berserking medallion on 5 people with packable vovs, be it separating 5 men and locking the remainder in Dale marshes, be it combining the total powers of a sapphire sword and maxed warrior to kill two, etc, etc. (Yeah, 10 years ago.)
So what have we seen in the past 5 years? (You and five other guys because everyone else got bored and moved on)
Rarely any top20 log. (About 50% of the top 20 logs are from the past 5 years you dumbfuck. You could have checked that fact easily you stupid, stupid man.)
Relatively less pvp (inter)action. (Because less people are playing you incredibly stupid man. In fact given the amount of people playing I'd hazard a guess that PVP per-capita has increased.)
Boredom/decreasing activity. (It's a 16yo text game. Girls born when this game started are now fair game.)
What's the problem in terms of pvp? (You, you are the problem)
There is just not enough innovative things out there to do. Coding 5 or 20 more lockups doesn't help. That encourages 24/7 play to get all the keys, not doing something FUN. (They fixed that shit because people like you abused it.)
Taking away MT glass, mordor bushes, etc, also didn't help. (Help what?)
But more importantly, there is just not anything to do atm! And I am not talking about about coding a quest that takes 3 hours to complete, or a similarly-timed lockup in order to use, or an item that comes from a 3h-quest that pwns. (So stop playing the game shit-heel)
What we see now, to recap, is a ton of players spending a ton of time gearing boring eq, not hunting around, or if hunting, relying on their mappers, having all keys, so what's the fun? (That isn't a recap. It's a new point. There are not a ton of players. There's 5. It's you, your brother, Duncan, Brubaker, Cruice and Hellflame.)
Are you trying to tell me they're having fun killing me everytime I decide to hunt them to death, or mess up once after hours of trying to get them to do anything? I'm not sure they're having fun.
