Ignoring the fact Daywalker can't tell an I from an E, IQ is based on a bell curve / percentiles and therefore a decrease in mean intelligence wouldn't actually change the average IQ.

Re DW: You're basically saying that if you had a bit of brains, you could have gotten your own equipment (not to be confused with the average EQ of the planet earth) and parts of yours. Shame you don't I guess.

This comment section would thoroughly be enjoyed by Martha Stewart. Such a high clown density in it.

Alkath, I actually did it, re-read the log. I just wanted to make sure I get the BETTER EQ first. If he actually wore from corpse and not from ground (cause he did it first), my command would not complete and he would have time to grab some of mine.

Anyway, Mirnac you seriously are retarded. Why would the victim and the killer have equal chance of getting the gear? The VICTIM has just DIED. He has no rights of whatsoever. If it was another game, the victim wouldn't even be able to revive for a certain period of time. And its not because DAYWALKER says so, its because thousands of game developers all around the world, including the ones from Blizzard think this is the correct way to do it.

Damn your such a fucking idiot Daywalker. It could be, that the ainu have conisdered it and concluded not to have loot protection. And i wouldnt want to have it either. Both killer and killed should have the chance to get gear back.

Akhazir, no it doesnt work on PKs, and it should. I mean when you kill a guy, he gets 15 mins ban from comm. This means that some ainur wasted his time and the QC time to actually code such a bullshit, and did not even think of the looting protection. Thats what pisses me off, people tend not to think and to waste the few resources we have.

Regarding the reason i dropped, it was because I knew what he has, and I wanted it ALL, not a part of it. That's why i dropped, so i can wear all as fast as possible, and then salvage as much as i can from my eq. I mean i can always quest a sparkler or pants, and it seems I was correct doing it. With a bit of brains he could have gotten his EQ and parts of mine...

Does the corpse looting protection trigger for PKs, or just for NPCs?

Why couldn't you just loot the corpse without dropping your stuff first, if you knew he was coming back so fast? You were lightly encumbered and Yeil wasn't carrying much either.

There's one word in your post that fits your entire career here Daywalker. 'entitled'

You always think you're entitled to something you're not. No one here, neither the players nor the admins, owes you a goddamn thing.

Ansgar's point was entirely missed, and entirely accurate.

And yeah, Yeil is a total IDIOT for reviving and getting back to his corpse to loot. *facepalms at Yeil's general direction*

    Get some EQ, dumbasses.

I tend to agree with DW about the spoils belonging to the assassin, to some extent, but at the same time the victim should have some means to outwit a slow looter; who just killed him in a lame manner for his gear.

This can surely be debated at length, but with the above point in mind; maybe if the assassin focused on the looting rather than gloating about the kill on the comm, he would have more time to loot at his disposal.

What's stupid about what Akhazir said?

And what's the EQ? Emotional quotient?

I really do not see any trouble with how things work as far as looting now. Game mechanics-wise all Yeil did was grabbing some eq that was dropped on the ground. What would you say should be changed? A timer that would prevent you from reviving? A timer that would prevent you from getting items a given time after you revive? A walk-delay as ghost?

    What?

you people seriously lower the average EQ of the planet earth, that's how stupid you are...

Arithon you are partially right, BUT there is one BUT... Nowadays, deaths cost close to nothing, pvp off is available for everyone, the only gain for an assassin that gets a chance to actually kill a target is their EQ. You tell me if that assassin should be entitled the EQ he just won or not.

Akhazir, what the hell happened to you? You used to be much smarter back in the days. I dropped my EQ because I KNEW this idiot will revive, 3 rooms from his corpse and will try to get back and loot (because he is invulnerable due to the recent death changes). I did drop my EQ cause i knew his and i preferred taking it, this does not make the event right. Assassin should be entitled the spoils. end of discussion.

You dropped all gambling that he couldn't get back in time. It didn't turn out the way you wanted. What needs to be changed? If Yeil could go revive and come back to loot his stuff that fast, you still were able to get it even faster.

You got three unique items off of this kill. Why complain about losing a pk set? I mean, the entire game can't change just to suit the killer, can it? God I hope not.

But then again, with the correct aliases/triggers you could have gotten most of his gear and most of yours aswell. So why isnt it ok that he can get his gear back if he uses the correct aliases?

Actually, Ansgar, the only thing wrong here I see is me having to lose a PK set due to a stupid setup of the game. If you are killed you should not be invulnerable and able to get your stuff right away before the killer gets a chance to review it. I mean ghosts travel instantly, so with the correct aliases, you can revive almost instantly, and if you are very close to the healer, like this case, you can almost certainly get all your stuff back, or at least most of it.

But yeah, I think that will change very soon.
