A little story of how Ainur ruined PVP

Player Kill

I finally meet the Blessing of Mandos, which just like pvp flags is a great idea, and extremely poor implementation, due to lack of game knowledge by the coder, QC and the administration. Summary: You cant kill a guy twice in less than 5 minutes ( so far so good ), but if you attempt, when he is about to die, he gets teleported to safety. (so far so good). Afterwards, YOU ARE GUILTY for attempt and have to pay up the lawsys for it fucking with your pk. Ok, saving the guy is tolerable, teleporting him is a bit over the edge, but ok. But having to pay for the system screwing with you, now that's idiotic. Posting for Faneti Mazakura.

I have the same question as Armandil. Did Nightmare do something to deserve getting killed repeatedly?

Winnetou, I think the problem lies thus: your brother is the most vocal criticizer of Valinor. I would suspect that we all, way deep down, agree with some of what he says more than we'd like to admit. However, he does so very abusively and obnoxiously. All we're saying is that it's very difficult to criticize Valinor on one hand while continuing to pursue activities that are contrary to the arguments that he makes on the other. There is most definitely a way to change the way that Valinor sees things, but that is by being a proactive member of the Towers community, not by writing amusing rages on the gossiper and running around spree-killing level 13s.

As for your return, quite a few members of the Towers community have petitioned Valinor for your reinstatement, myself included. They don't seem to want to listen in that regard. Sorry, man. We did try.

Formie, maturity is not about age. We all err, and this constant slander, where all sides are both right and wrong at the same time, is not helping. Even if it's a game, it's not really a game. This logpage has been... hell, in that regard.

To be totally fair to both sides:

    1. I'd say, after much erring, saying anything against anybody is a no-do thing. I.e. don't do it. So as much as my bro is not right, so also is wrong anybody who says anything against him.

    2. On the side of Valinor, I imagine it would be much smoother if they didn't see evil intentions everywhere - because what you see happens to you, one way or another. I think they are wrong in not letting my bro in Valinor, and in not letting me play at all.

    I'm not that evil.

I suspect Daywalkers 'attempted' dialogue with the ainur may would go much better if he

    1. Didn't constantly tell them they're fucking stupid/ruining the game/have no idea about the codebase and instead just stuck the points he's trying to make.

    2. Wasn't continuing his tradition of total hypocrisy, in this case, constantly saying the PVP flag is a really bad idea, whilst PVP off on his main character and killing people with his alts (posting the logs under his main character)

    3. I'm sure I could come up with points 3, 4 and 5, however I think the top 2 are the most pertinent.

Yes, we get that you think the PVP flag is a bad idea, being 'part of the problem' is not helping your case against it.

There's an old english saying which I feel is appropriate:

'You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar'

Which roughly translated means 'If you're asking someone for something, you're more likely to get the result you want by being kind than being aggressive and argumentative'

(I'm aware I don't always follow this advice, but I also don't constantly complain the people I'm 'trying to help' aren't listening to me).

I've seen many people come and go on this mud, many (arguably including myself) starting incredibly immature and as they aged, getting older, wiser and more reasoned. The only player who has stuck around this long yet still comes across as a child is DW, even his brother tends to stay quieter these days (even before he was banned)

CoU don't give a shit about 'thematic allies', that was from their (at the time) GM.

I am a little confused why Arcanus (who represents CoU), so...I am a little confused why CoU was killing me, I know I am not hitlisted.

What did nightmare do to deserve being killed so many times?

Or should i rather say, attempted.
