    As you look around what used to be a nice sitting room, you
notice that it has been thoroughly destroyed.  What once was a
door is now just a gaping hole.  Several pieces of furniture lay
scattered across the room.  A small fireplace sits in one corner
with a tiny pot on top of it.  Too bad it is bolted to the fireplace.
    The only obvious exits are west, out and east.

    As you step foot into this small glade the first thing that catches
your eye is the abundance of orcish corpses. They are scattered 
everywhere! All have huge gashes and gaping wounds, all looking 
quite painful. As you adjust to the gore and blood you see a small
sod cottage, door kicked in and all the windows busted. A small
chimney rises from the top with a sliver of smoke coming from it. To
the east is what appears to be a small path leading to a stream.
The sky is black and the stars shine down brightly.
The sky is brilliantly clear.
    The only obvious exits are south, east and enter.

The great trees encircle the clearing, raising their boughs to the
night sky, and affording some protection from the elements.

river. Across the bridge, you can see a steep slope covered with trees.
The ground on the eastern side of the river looks trampled, and
many trees have been marred by fire and blade.  Between the trees,
you can see fire and smoke and occasional dark forms moving.  You
can clearly hear drums and the sound of battle.  There are rough
stone stairs leading into the smoke, but you notice how inviting
the rest of Mirkwood has suddenly become.
