Warlord vs Deadly Shot. Ouch.
I also forgot to add, Asgrim had a real bad luck going there with his hits too, hehe
55 blocking or so. And hmm, I don't really think archers need much tuning. Against npcs with lots of hp I will never win against a warrior (the closest comparison in professions) in terms of being most efficient in that situation. We are moe effective against players because the fights are shorter. You burn so much ep as an archer that you can't keep up the combat tricks long, and the tricks made me win that duel, couple with the eminent bow, and the critical hit too :)
Isn't that only logical, the profession still needs finetuning. No less can be expected
Don't worry everyone, keep posting these logs and Archers will be 'fixed' before long!
What a great use of alliteration, Ezekial. Your composition teachers would be proud! : )
I'm rather curious at secondaries. Does Asgrim have any deflecting? Does Calenril have any blocking? Just a thought. ;) Not trying to force you guys to reveal your super-secret sneaky secondary skills. *mglint*
no one made you be a ranger trempk
I add my words to Ahocho's. Many factors play in. You NEVER want to run out of arrows in a fight, cause that does evil things to your bow. Luck, well, luck harnessed in the skill Archery, to determine how fast you fire. The bow certainly but also the arrows. The timing in how you use kickback and multinock. Also realise this, normally you don't have much ep over for either of those skills. Fletching takes ep, salvaging takes ep, repairing the salvaged arrows take even more ep.
But it is fun :)
I beat a bunch of maxed warriors and wizards during playtesting. It shows you how much rangers really such after playing such a cool prof.
A dark crimson longbow.
Still, what bow was that?
the wizard because i say so
I want to spar a Archer!
Wiz vs Archer! coo l;p
who'll win ?
It's kind of absurd to imagine an archer and a warrior standing right next to each other fighting. A bow is a ranged weapon. (grins) Still, I realize this is the best way to implement it in terms of gameplay.
I think Archers are a well balanced profession and take some more intelligence that just starting combat and sitting back. It requires some more from the person playing it, there are a lot of variables which you must keep in check to ensure the good outcome of the battle. EP management, bow you are using, arrows you have, timing. I think they are a challenge to play and are a diversion from the latest changes moving towards a more mind numbing game.
Archers kinda sucks at low level. It takes too much EP for salvaging when killing the not-too-hard-or-rich NPCs for gold, and with archery around 40, one only occasionally makes 2 moves per round. I'd wait until about level 13 before actually using bows with an archer. **What bow was that?**
Calenril does a pushkick straight on your chest, giving him
time to shoot another arrow at you.
Calenril blasts you with a handcrafted arrow to the shoulder, just missing the heart!
Thwack! An arrow lodges itself deeply in your body.
You will have to yank it out.
Calenril just barely hurts you in the leg with a handcrafted arrow.
Calenril nocks a handcrafted arrow.
Calenril draws back on a bow.
Calenril aims carefully and sends a handcrafted arrow soaring towards your chest! That was a pretty evil round. :P
i doubt you would wimpy first if ya got a good deathmask to headbutt him down burning all your ep.
YEAAAAAAAAAA
Yea, I'll say. The bow helps a tremendous amount too. Just ask Calenril.
Archers are probally the best profession in the game right now, but gotta be used correctly
Holy crap! Archers are better than i thought. =P

Well, I'll say that the critical was nice ;P Archer is a very chancy profession in combat.. as you can either fire an arrow in 1, 2 or 3 rounds. Well, at least I've never taken longer than 3, but then I've never been low level as archer.
I was very surprised at the outcome of that :)
