But both DID exist at one point. We shouldn't have any characters that never existed. If so, they are from before the verification system was implemented.. but I don't think we do.

here is my question, why does trigger talk so much shit, and yet as far as i know not have a character named trigger that exists... I atleast give props to those who have names that assosiate with their characters. but hiding behind a name like trigger? come on, if you are going to rip on someone because of their interpertation of a nursery rhyme.. rip on this guy for hiding behind his name...

GRANTED- i don't have any more characters so i have no room to talk

I do not think this argument is solely about a nursery rhyme?(i could be wrong of course) Seems to me the subject of the argument is not important, for fucks sake, you could replace it with anything your imagination could generate. It's the universal topics that reside behind them, and the comments of ignorant people that in effect drives them.

Ignorants ;). The song goes like this of course:

Lille Peter edderkop kravled' op ad muren
S? kom regnen og skylled' Peter ned
S? kom solen og t?rred' Peters krop
Lille Peter edderkop kravled' atter op.

Some versions have 'og skylled' Peter v?k' in line 2. Notice how only lines 3 and 4 rhyme.

Trigger you are goddamn fool. but perhaps you just do not know better. He is not butchering something that is translated differently in another language. It is a translation. Languages can not always express the same meanings meant in its original context. For instance that next time you are reading a french,Russian,German, etc novel and it says translated by so and so...look at the same book translated by someone else.

Hehe, you guys are funny.. it's a godamn nursery rhyme for crying out loud. Using the word 'butchering' in this situation is beyond ignorance..

    anyways it goes like this:

    Imse vimse spindel kl?ttra uppf?r tr?n
Ner faller regnet, spola spindeln bort
Upp stiger solen, torka bort allt regn
Imse vimse spindel kl?ttra upp igen

I know.. I used to sing it a couple of decades and some odd years ago ;) And there's hand movements too! god forbid someone on this page gets those wrong!

i didnt call you ignorant before, but im calling you ignorant now. i put no names in that previous statement, i was implying that butchering something that's been around as long as that has when not making a parody of it was ignorant.

You called me ignorant for a valid point. I dont particularly like you. Other than that, no, i was just trying to get a somewhat more intellectual discussion going on this page. Guess people here just expect the typical 'i'm so cool, look at me and my big balls' attitude.

I'd hardly call a nursery rhyme literature. Most nursery rhymes are born like sayings or slang. People start them, then through modification and repitition, they become popular. I'm sure during the birth of this rhyme, there were many different versions, then recently the different versions were condensed into only a few by publication of various nursery rhyme books. However, calling a rhyme of this type literature, just because someone gathered this rhyme from pop culture, and replicated it in their book of rhymes does not mean that it is 'Literature' and as such can have a correct and incorrect version. You can hardly say that one way of saying the rhyme is more right than the other.

when you're quoting something from literature, imposing your 'pop culture' onto it, unless it's a parody, just makes you look ignorant

Ironically, Martok proves in the conclusion of his comment. Saying 'my 10 cents' instead of 'my two cents', like most people do he repeats Tanar's act of distorting pop culture. For elements of pop culture like sayings or, in the prior case, rhymes, there is no absolutely 'correct' way to put anything.

Dude Have you ever heard of Culture? and how all sorts of things have different versions? sonnets, poem's, free verses, and just about anything. It is really fucking ignorant to tell someone to do it your way.

    Just my 10 cents.
