Well it does mean something, but not in determining just how much you can ignore Gothwin's orders.
And I doubt Galaad would have locked up an Amruin and then demanded he give over his equipment or be killed, so how long you have been in the guild before you were admitted means little. You were an initiate when you started stealing equipment to give to Rondo, and no one really doubted that you continued to do so after promising not to, but we let the matter drop.
Nicho, I was standing IN THE ROOM with you when you promised you would not kill anyone without first getting Gothwin's approval, and then you go out and kill Azbakhar. That is lying, and that is also disobeying.

As far as pkilling someone in a way that might not be fair... plenty of players have long looked at items and locations that might help make the perfect kill. Some of these methods, over the years were pure genious, and some of these methods were perhaps abuse of Code and Valinor put a stop to it somehow.
To fall out of friendship with someone, but feign friendship long enough to lead someone somewhere dangerous and then make the kill isn't really any worse than blinding someone with lit brands and then shooting them with a sleep arrow.

Nichodemus knows the rules of our guild. Anyone who leaves the guild dies. Nicho, you cannot tell me you were surprised to be killed. How many times have you taken part in the slaying of a member who left?
There is no question about his dedication to the guild and his past with us. But the fact of the matter is, he has let his alleged past accomplishments get to his head - his arrogance was his downfall. And in the end, his loyaty was not about being part of the guild but for his own personal gain.
Don't twist this into some cruel action or a betrayl of friendship. You betrayed SoU first.
It was this past Halloween and myself, Deadlok, Nildnab and another one of my rl friends were going to head up to Santa Barbara. Nildnab was driving and as we were getting onto the onramp of the freeway near my house, I guess he decided the Mac truck in front of us was going to slow around the onramp turn. So Nild decides to gun it around the truck, careening over the curb through the turn, mashing the gas and when we got around the truck and came down from the little curb, the back end of the stang almost slid out which would have sent us straight into the wall, and stopped directly in front of the Mac truck. Luckily, Nild was able to correct it and we enjoyed the rest of our night getting faded in Santa Barbara. Quite a scare. :)

This kill was supposed to be one of poetic justice, abusing Nichodemus' trust just like he abused ours. If any of you are too dense to see that, then it's your loss. It was perfectly planned and executed. Obviously most of you can't know just how both blatantly and surreptitiously Nichodemus disobeyed orders at every turn, but that's another reason for you to just accept this kill as an execution and move on, since you can't understand the motivation behind it.

Nichodemus was borrowing eq and hanging around the FRA GH while he was an SoU applicant, before they became DH, so it's hardly a coincidence that he leaves the guild right after he was finished levelling and immediately applies to DH.

I gave the nod to have Nichodemus killed, the means and method of it was up to the person fulfilling the hit. Do I disagree with how the kill was executed in the end? No. It was a cold-blooded kill, and it perfectly fits the mood Nichodemus put me in.

Gothwin made a post on the guild board putting him on the hit list, but that's the limit of her involvement. Regardless, Nichodemus abused our trust on so many different occasions, by lying, stealing and killing unprovoked, I find this manner of death to be poetic irony.

I think someone leaving your guild shouldn't make you feel as 'betrayed' as someone abusing your trust and killing you. Whether any of you like it or not, Gothwin is responsible for the attack because she is the guildmistress of the SoU. Even if she did not order it, she still is responsible. In my past I knew the SoU to place contracts on those who leave or hitlist them, but never to lead them into a trap. *shrug*
All I'm saying in this post is that if you hunted him and killed him, then it would be fine.
Guild policy is that you never kill someone with getting permission from Gothwin, or at the least another member of the guild leadership. Nichodemus killed many people without permission. He also stole equipment to give to RL friends, and when he left the guild he took equipment with him. I defended him over and over again to Gothwin, and in his last offense, locking up an Amruin and demanding he give him his equipment, and then having him killed when he was refused, I even deflected a unilateral dismissal by requesting a DH vote. In the end, though, he left and made me look like a naive idiot. We've kicked out numerous members for a LOT less, but I fought to keep him around because of his history with the guild, and Gothwin had a lot more patience with him than others would. Hopefully the matter will end with his death, but I doubt it.

oh i am sorry, I havent realised what truely happened here until Talan pointed it out. Nichodemus was actually being partied with one of the SoU members and then was led into a locked room... Well gothwin, when I was around, we always made out enemies realise that they are on the hitlist... here you had one of your members lead nichodemus into a lockable room and kill him, how does that represent our 'normal' policies.
'Tis true, it's unfortunate that things had to have turned out this way, but the method of death corresponds to the method in which Nichodemus acted towards the Sons of Ulfang. He turned his back on someone who enacted whole-heartedly, breaking tradition and bending rules (Gothwin) to re-admit Nichodemus. For those who are familiar with SoU's policy, the readmittance of previous members just isnt allowed. But obviously in some cases, exceptions are made. Despite these facts, Nichodemus, without word or reason, in essence shoved Gothwin's generosity back in her face, as well as disrespecting his other guildmembers. SoU felt betrayed and insulted. So in turn, it was only proper that Nichodemus felt the same emotions. It's unfortunate that I had to be the one to carry out these actions, as this was not my style, and I have known Nicho for quite some time. But it was something that had to be done in order to re-establish an impartial relationship. In other words, death simply was not enough.
For those of you taking this out or frowning upon Gothwin for this action, dont. I was the one who commited the act. The score between SoU and Nichodemus is now even. If retaliation or anything remotely negative comes out of Nichodemus towards our halls, there will be consequences and I'm sure he understands and respects that, being as though he is more often than not, an rational individual of sound mind.

It seems that the countless times we sat you down and explained things to you just weren't enough to get through to you. You die in RP, you get reimbursed, end of the matter. You get killed in Mordor, you were avenged, end of the matter. You pk without asking and therefore blatantly breaking our laws, you cross the line. You act like an ass, bring shame to our name by threatening people like an idiot, demanding eq that isn't yours to demand, and instigate their death. Why? Because you are bored. You just don't know when to stop and keep asking for more and more.
You refuse to listen, you refuse to accept what is given to you, and have been acting apart from the guild every since you were admitted. Is that the same Nichodemus that grew up in the SoU? Bottom line is, you had a chance to part with the guild on peaceful terms, and show us the same courtesy we have shown you by at least explaining your own reasons, but instead you turned your back on your guild without a word, left with the guilds eq on you and your stone off, and slapped every single member that cared and put in effort in for you in the face. You think you're so damn special? I don't think so, and considering that not a single member stood up to defend you when the word came you were to be executed speaks volumes to me.
I can excuse every single person who commented here due to their ignorance of our laws, but you (and Manner) should know that in our eyes, and in the eye of the very cause we stand and fight for, such failure and betrayal is not acceptable, and there is only one way to deal with blood-sucking leeches like that. I'll tell you what happened. Back a month ago, I was killed by BkD in RP - they followed me north at Balforth. While I was reimbursed for my death, I still was pretty pissed off. 'No, Nich, you can't have revenge.' Alright. Fine. Whatever. Then they gangbang me in Mordor. I had a sword and a pack. That was pretty hot - 5vs1. So two of them died. I was still pissed. 'No, Nich, you can't have revenge.' Yeh, whatever. So then they decide that they're going to try and gangbang me twice more. Yeah, right. That didn't work. So I killed Azbakhar. Almost got thrown out of SoU. Then Azbakhar demanded 20k from me, and I told him to fuck off. And THEN he cried to Gothwin about it. So she gave it to him! Then they told me, 'Nich, you can't pk anyone anymore, blahblah'. Ok. Cowardice much? Can't even defend your members? Pretty cool. Especially after being in SoU for years. Yeah. I felt appreciated. So I left. Why? Because first they ignore my requests to avenge me, they ignore me, then they try to put a lid on me? Yeah, that's going to happen. So I left. That's the story.
Well maybe our beloved REALLY hot girl Gothwin would tell us what happened...
Obviously not something enough to make him think they were enemies. He was helping Gothwin and Adunazon and I look for people in Mordor earlier today.

By looking at this.. that just wasnt right, for all I can remember, Adunazon and Nichodemus have been in sons forever, if I was a member still I would kill ya, take your head and rape your corpse.
