I ask Smeg how to get to Bywater, and suddenly I find myself in Ainur prison, to be inquisitioned by the [unholy eternal]. No, it's not in color, yes, it's a stupid log, but nevertheless I found it amusing in its own special way. Enjoy!

I did not mean removing all the newbie areas. The only thing I said that Bywater is a crappy newbie area, as you have a lot of better ones: with more gold, easier mons, more exp, and less crowd -- but hey, they are needed for _newbies_ and _lowbies_. Not us old players.

About that 'boring relevel after last nuke/suicide': both nukes and suicides are nothing but your own faults. If you don't cheat, the big wolf has no reason to delete you. If you don't spree-kill, your fines are at a manageable level, and you have no reasons to suicide.

    Anatharn: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

    Can't be worse than TAG.

Ethereal: I wasn't drunk, and you know it. And I will ask you how to get to Bywater. Again and again and again. And you'll keep talking to me nevertheless. Ha!

the point 'no more boring relevel after the last nuke/suicide' would be extremely interesting especially for you, Nicuramar..

Yes indeed Nagash, let's remove all the crappy newbie areas in the game. Actually, it would be easier that way:

You start as a level 19 right away.. no more boring relevel after the last nuke/suicide due to fines. After all the only part of the game that is worth playing is as a maxed out eh?

As an added advantage, we would all be free of annoying newbie questions.

Bah... I didn't know where Bywater is as well, until like three years ago.
Why would anyone care for a part of Hobbiton, a crappy newbie area?

Anatharn is so right. SO right. I can get to a tent in Osgiliath. Huzzah! What's even greater is that he actually bothered to teach me some aliases. *cheers for Anatharn!*

Deadlok, thanks! Maybe in another 4 years, I'll actually need to get to Bywater. I'll be sure to save your alias in my Notebook-O-Important-Mudstuff so that I don't forget it.

Fimbu, you can teach me geography anytime.

    Hehehe...

Etoile knows how to get from the Osgiliath inn room to the MC council room in MT though. But only because I showed it to her like 10000 times :P I bet she already forgot it by now.

Damn, you can't fit all your friends on your friend list? I have the same problem with my enemies ;)

Azbakhar: That was my favorite part too. Check this out:

    etoile1569: shit

etoile1569: he put me in the bree playground

etoile1569: now I need someone to get me out

etoile1569: because I can't find my way out of Bree.

Osse: well, get to the west gate, where the signpost is, then travelto adornas, then travelto edoras, then travelto minastirith

    etoile1569: *grin*

Moreover- I couldn't fit everyone on my friends list. No hard feelings to the 'enemies!'

Glifur: yes, I've read the books. For me, though having a general knowledge of 'where it exists' in the books somehow doesn't help me find my way room by room. Not sure why- maybe having something to do with my 'inability to navigate spatial relationships'. And, travelto only helps from a signpost, as I'm sure you well aware- I was dropped at the newbieboard- you're overestimating my abilities; there are rooms in between signpost and newbieboard that I could have gotten lost in!

Boffo: you pretty much have the grasp of it. I didn't realize it until I went back to Smeg's yahoo messeges (he wasn't being very coherent at the time, most likely due to exhaustion) but essentially he thought it was amusing that I would ask (not having known me as long as some other players have, who would find this to be standard-Etoile-behavior) and decided to tell Melkor about it (He tells me this after I send him frantic messeges about being in Ainur prison) I don't think he thought any of the parties involved would take it seriously.

    Smeg tells you: Sorry *blush*

Also, my friend Stella 'hit' on Osse 'back'- there was no violence involved! It was a purely pacifist mudparty, unless you count some of Ari's stories...

And well, it was a totally legitimate inquiry for Melkor to make. I just found it funny (after the initial terror of being in Ainur prison hit me, which was mainly after Osse arrived)- it seems those that know me thought so too (they laughed)

    Hope this cleared things up!

I seriously doubt that Melkor was snooping either Etoile or Smeg... I think Smeg was highly suspicious and ratted her out.

Quite funny. When Osse says 'she hit back' -does that mean he got slapped?

heh.. kinda funny thing going on here. I've had Etoile in a party and I've told her what travelto she had to use to meet me at the right place when we were about to kill something. She's totally useless when it comes to asking for help, not exactly the first person I would ask. But she kinda cool to talk to. Party up and join us for some exphunt, don't ask where we're going.

Etoile was level 17 or 18 when she stopped playing. All this time later she returns and, well, what business does a level 17/18 have in Bywater? I certainly only visit there on rare occassions, but then I have never had a long break. So, as she levels up to 19 and 20, her resources are not in Bywater, so she has no need to know the place. Besides that, some people *never* get a sense of direction, never use a map, and rely on aliases they've picked up, and people partying them.

Just think back to the time when you yourself were new(really new), trying to navigate from Bywater to Bree was a challenge in itself. In my day, travelto did not exist.

But I can fully understand Melkor's concerns, and I would thank him for being concerned.

To me and those that know her well, Etoile saying that she doesn't know how to get to Bywater pretty much proves that she is Etoile ;)

Damn sis, I love ya, but you can't get around anywhere. :P As SOMEONE told me once 'Someone tells you: I had to show her the way out of Bree from Ratty' and I can't count on hands and toes how many times I've heard you say 'I'm at (some sign) how do I get to (some sign)' LOL. just goes to show that friends can be helpful in more ways than one. Good that you didn't get nuked, but, can we say: Get some aliases? :P *hugs*

You know, when Etoile told me about this, I was like... NAH Melkor is just playing around with you, he likes to toy with people.

And then she told me more details and I was all.. OHHHH so he's serious!

And then I tried to tell Melkor that I could vouch for her, but he didn't respond to me. Heh. I guess he just isn't in touch with the pulse of the social circles of Arda. There's like a million of us that could vouch for the fact that Etoile does not know her way around. I didn't believe it either at first, but... really she doesn't know how to get around!

But she doesn't need to know that stuff, that's what the rest of us are here for :)
