Besides, I agree with Fimbu, I was _highly_ paranoid during the war, always faded, always healing. I get caught only once by a bang, because I was talking to someone and decided to not fade on an alias that was longer than 20 rooms, hehe.
so yes, this way you can avoid to be killed, but that's pretty boring and exhausting.
well even good players have their moments of looseness, and the less you are off guard, the better you are, though the probability of being 100% careful is null. There is always a floating moment, where one can be caught and with a little luck, that's precisly when someone will be waiting. :P
Paranoid players don't allow themselves to be a victim of timing :P. Wasn't Deimos's legendinfo 'I'd rather die than live on my knees.' a while ago? Coming from him, ok, it's stupid, but I think it makes sense. I could run to heal every time I get below 180, but that would just suck.

well, it's not that impossible to solo, you just have to be very patient...well of course warriors are still a pain to get, but a good timing is more than never what matters the most.

For the most part, people who remotely know what they are doing wont get soloed by any assassins. Especially when you have 230 hp to use to get away from that one assassin. It's really hard to kill someone solo, you have to trigger for whatever break you think they are going to use then you have to acctually do enough damage to kill them. And if they have the whip(in this case Toruh probably will) he will most likely have a flask and a dream potion, thats what, 300 hp/ep healing? Good luck soloing anyone with that kind of healing. :)
Oddly enough, I had a trigger do buy many-tailed whip,wield whip.
Afterwards I proofed it, and still don't know why the whip wasn't wielded immediately. No, it wasn't an encumberence issue.
Of course, I feel stupid, because there were lots of things I could have done. But when I didn't see the whip blaze up, I checked the shop again, thinking I hadn't bought it, when I had.
Every once in a while, you make a TERRIBLE mistake playing this mud. But when I look back at this one, I am still not sure what mine was. Should have been almost flawless, because it was mostly unpredictable, but Kudos to Toruh on the steal.
