Player Kill

Razor was in isolation for several long months. One day, Razor decided to take a walk in his home town. Razor killed Chef, for some unknown reason. Razor tought it will be ok to go afk for a sec or two, cause noone is that stupid to attack him in his home town. Razor was wrong. Razor got really pissed (typically rimsilvalish), started using some bad/ugly words. My friend once said "don't go afk outside, or don't whine if you die".

erm, hi, just got on to see if my death was posted. It was. Anyhoo, i was pissed at the time that i died, i was infact idle cuz i had shit todo, and i figured being less than 10 rooms away from my guild would be ok, but i was wrong, i'll suck it up call it my loss, and wont let it happen again. But dont call me a guild rat, then talk to me like everything is cool. This 'guild rat' has enough gold to stick your ass in contracts for 20 years.

    Nuff said.

If you're willing to admit that it's bad luck, then how can you call it a cop out in the same sentence? Not to be offensive, but thats a fag thing to say. Besides that point, I can't count how many times I've been booted by my piece of shit dialup connection and I when I reconnected I had to type 'y' because the MUD didn't register me as linkdead. I seriously doubt anyone would just sit there mid-pk, super especially 4 rooms from their guildhall.

'It isn't real role-play' By that sentence I mean that going idle is a game based construct, not something that happens in RL like gang-bangs, another thing I don't think is a bad as people sometimes protray it.

Caber, well i know that people have to leave for more important things, but it is my opinion that is a cop out, and since it isn't real role-play to go idle (unless you are deep in thought or in shock) it shouldn't be an excuse. Since the new addition of the 5 minute idle-no-attack rule this is more rare than ever, but it just shows that the assassin was sticking to it. If RL matters come up while someone is playing the game that is just bad luck, like if someone gets disconnected during a long alias.

I know Razor to be a cool guy, and too bad it had to happen to him, but at least he didn't get dragged into the oven, which I think is a worse offence (betraying someone's trust) instead of something out of the players control.

Can someone tell me why he goes from 151 to 125 EP a few lines into the log?

If ice staves kept materialising in the room I was in, I'd be stoked ;)

You could always just close the client thing and be disconnected if thats the case buddy! that gives you like 15 minutes of safety and solves your problem of haven't to leave immediately!

Camillus, sometimes RL matters come up. Sometimes you don't have even the couple of seconds needed to go to your guild or inn or whatever, and that's where common courtesy for the fact that RL exists comes into play. You wrote your post as if everyone chooses where, when, and how they go idle...but that isn't the case. :)

I still don't see whats that difference between idle-killing, and catching someone alone in the wilderness at low hp. One, they are both due to the fault of the person who died, and two going idle is a construct of the game and not something that happens in real life.

I have a good idea for everyone who wants to look honorable. Next time someone tries to pk you, just sit there, turn off wimpy and let the person kill you without moving or showing that you are active. Then you can say 'Oh I was idle, you scumbag' and everyone will think that your enemy is the biggest jerk. Go ahead and try it! Yes, I am trying to rationalize idle killing. And though it sucks to be idle killed, the only reasonable solution is to idle somewhere safe, like perhaps a guildhall a few steps away, or a common inn.

    Wheet Wheet!

well if you just pked someone and are standing over their corpse which hasn't rotten yet, i don't think you'd be 'idle' by any circumstance. i might be wrong, it could take a few minutes for a corpse to rot now, i dunno!

Therigion, you are a stupid cow without skills and you just get lucky Razor was idle or he'd have just kick you.

I don't know what are those stupid 'do starting command;do comand complete' stuff, but it makes the log be even more pointless than it already was.

And by the way, your friend is an idiot too: only an utter sneaky coward would idle kill someone, you guys have no respect for honor and tradition and justice whatsoever. Methink you should form a clan, the clan of the retarded outsider of T2T.

It just seems as if, it was edited somehow. It wasn't in the room when you entered and unless I missed the line, it didn't appear to be dropped by neither Therigion or Razor.
