I left the halls a couple of month ago, just wanted to post the log of the room desc. Imo, it was the best halls descriptions ever, (for what I have seen of the others). Whoever wrote them I think it's sad it has now to sink into oblivion. Just wanted to testify of a time, now revolved.

That just goes to show you're retarded, the guild is gone, what the hell does it matter? Moron.

I am insanely sorry to see these halls go. Jesus I was a durm for most of my mud life (except on rare occasions.) I am still extremely dissapointed that the theme and guild is changing. If you denie that The Durmanhoth did not have a huge signifigant role in the shaping of Arda then you are dimwit. Secondly I think Necs should be nuked for giving out secret information or atleast whacked a couple times for being a dimwit and showing guild secrets.

Agrees with Castamir, quests or just the ability to visit old halls, would be really sweet. Since the Fellowship was removed I have not been able to find any place that feels even remotely the same to me, (perhaps im just ready to depart once and for all....)

But I wonder if not our administrators are way to focused on the future to care about the past enough to make it happend? -Please prove me wrong:) Heck ill even immort for the chance to make a quest in the old halls of the Fellowship. Btw, the FRA quest should include beeing beaten to a pulp by angry ents:)

That was really cool. I always wanted to see the descriptions of some of these guild halls, the room names were always interesting when I was doing finds and what have you.

That would be fucking awesome, Casta! Maybe the Rims could have a new spell put in? And hey, why not put some kind of quest in for where the Sheriffs hall used to be, too? Does anyone else think Castamir's idea would make a good use of the forum system?

The FRA quest wouldn't work, you'd just die when you tried it every time. That would be cool.

Well yes Elariel, I agree. By library I meant the content. Of course a sacked and burnt room should be there. Obviously the orcs in Frams raided the hall when the Rimsilval withdrew. :)

That is an amazing idea Cast, I would love to see that happen.

Otoron: I disagree with you on the library. I think the library itself should be included, but the *content* removed.

    just my thoughts...

Well Necs, we generally speaking didn't appreciate that often people abused the privilege of being allowed to spend days in our library, so it became something that only those we really trusted got to do.

Castamir, that idea is Jesus-brilliant. When I suggested having the ruins of the Meg castle in the game, however, I was told by a Power (forget who) at the time that such an idea was totally out of the question. There seemed to have been some personal feelings on the part of many who removed the guilds to eviscerate their memory. Which is of course a travesty, since much of Arda's history happened in those halls. Being able to wander through them would be an amazing idea, and have them including quests would be great... as long as the library isn't included, since it is somewhere else now :)

But yeah. It would be nice to use the portal now and then and see the cracked leather armchairs and warped wooden panelling of the Rimsilval hall, and the mallorn in the arboretum. Not to mention the Meg museum, or the Durm list.

Not really Rudmar, there wasn't that much in that library.

    Some 100 posts or so.

Heh fun to get a beheading dagger. The Rimsilval quest sounds like fun, although digging through all their written material must take ages...

And Nec, I love the roleplay in your ranks: Goofy Secretary

I've got an idea... What about converting the old, abandoned guildhalls into quests everyone can use?

The Durm quest would involve fighting wildly-shivving NPCs and would give you a beheading dagger, the Rimmie quest would be located in an abandoned wizards' tower, involving digging through heaps of books and scrolls. I don't know the FRA guildhall, and there are some rumours about another ainu having some ideas related to the Meglivornth castle. And yeah, the Eruhini quest would involve dipping yourself in honey and throwing to the... er, stop.

A list of former GM's is nifty too. People tend to forget such things very fast.

All in all a very cool hall.

Durmanhoth could have been really cool, it just had too many of the wrong sort bringing it down, just like a lot of guilds do/did. Lost potential

hehe yeah and of all the guilds that are no more.

I've always thought it was a pity to just delete them without a testimony.

You know what would be cool? If anyone that knows java or something took those descs and made a homepage, containing an interactive tour of the guild. :)

hehe well some of them sure were the greatest, some of them prolly had still to train a lot, but it was a cool spirit and I loved it. That's sad to see roleplay be forced into a unique system.

Sounds a bit like mondialisation in a way heh.

Against the 'one-idea-system' of arda, join the revolutionary league!!
