Feyd, demonic applicant of daen hecil, has tried to kill me in the past with Skyman's help.
Hectan is cool.
Hectan, it wasn't that the moral guilds went to war with the Durms because of the actions of a few members. They usually went to war after those members had been causing problems for awhile, and the Durm leadership refused to do anything about it. And, in that case, it is the guild's problem. Any isolated act shouldn't be held against a guild- consistently turning a blind eye to the actions of members when you don't agree with them is a problem, however. And if you can't get the leadership to do anything about you, sometimes you have to make them listen!

Hey, I'm a big advocate of not being judged by your guildmates' actions. A few years around Daedin will do that to you. But you never saw Durms complaining when moral guilds went to war with them because of the actions of a few members.
i got robbed by a beorning. i'm a moral dunadan. does that mean the whole guild robbed me? does that mean that the whole guild steals from moral dunedain whenever they can? =P
You don't, Hectan? If I were Grimscar, I'd probably say something here like 'I see at least one old Durm in this log!' Actually, I'd probably be a lot more explicit and use the word 'alt' too. And then nothing bad would happen to me for it.
You're right, of course, Otoron. I'm lazy though. If you don't like that, feel free to get as indignant as you like. :)
hrm...and when you get rid of them you start doing it IRL too..and then you find yourself all alone and it sux..blah! do whatever you feel like:)
Allies...just go playerkill damnit, allies are a burden to get rid of!:P
*looks blankly at Saritalr*:P
Er...why the hell explain to people your reasons, guys:))) You wanna join a guild - go join it:) don't explain to others:)
Nah. Kill all the Elves you want. I don't care.
If you wanna be an ally of Gondor, don't kill in Gondor.
A lot simpler, if you ask me.

I don't see any old Durms in this log, Skyman. If you want to be an ally of morals, don't kill morals. This seems like simple math to me.
If you can't wait 10d to join a guild you want to join, quit your goddamn whining.
If the char exists solely to join that guild, make it the right race.
If not, do the -huge- thing of getting to 10d of age.
Race restrictions rock.
Kill restrictions rock.
They make the MUD a more intense place, and guilds are actually coalescing around themes and alliances and the War of the Ring (gasp!) instead of around merc'ing or a library.
Viva la theme!

It used to be a common sight to see members of the Beorning guild raiding Linhir or killing gate guards in Minas Tirith. Perhaps this has changed.
NPCs provide the backdrop for the rich social interaction on the towers. NPC restrictions force all guilds follow at least a minimal ammount of theme.
Race restrictions for guilds are another matter... I have to wait 10d or make a new character in order to join the guild I want? Laaaaame.
And old durms shouldn't use 'killed a few citizens in mt' as a pk reason. If they are so protective they should start focusing on some demonic, for example. I'd rather hear 'I wanted to look his mmail' as a reason. Feyd's right tough.
For that matter! (I am ranting a bit now) Who's idea was it that NPC restrictions were a good idea for guilds? NPCs are not the story here. The story of our Arda is its Players. NPCs are background. Let me repeat that (N)on (P)layer (C)haracters aren't Players. They are the scenery. They are computer controlled little 1 and 0 just like everything else in Arda except for the little 1 and 0s defined as Player Characters. The difference being PCs are controlled by you and me. NPCs are the same as the trees and horses and sunsets controlled by the MudLib. Scenery!
We should be strengthening and growing PC vs PC interaction not PC vs NPC.
(Sorry, Admin, I can move this to the discussion board if you desire)
For the record, I am not activly persuing DH membership. I was at one point. And I still have friends there. But I am enjoying guildlessness too much right now. As Grimscar already knew.
But, to set it straight - I don't consider you (you Skyman personally, and you Beornings as a Guild) an enemy(enemies) of Gondor. Neither do I consider you as an ally(allies). And I'm fine with that.
Well, I don't know why.. I just saw you leaving the First Knight's room, fading and going back up and somehow it didn't seem like the usual 'DAP getting' behavior..
Aravor? When did you do that. Last time I remember killing a moral with my party was like months ago. You surely should've noticed us disguised demonic and raiding Osgiliath.
Skyman thematically should be an ally of Gondor, but in practice he ain't. He got what he deserves.
An ally? Come on.. I saw him killing in Gondor, and his guildmates too..
In retrospect, I should have gotten grimscar lost in the wormtunnels to keep him away from skyman. But I was not expecting that and really didn't have a lot of time.
Anyway, nice kill. Killing Skyman however wasn't. Don't try to justify it after the fact Grimscar. You killed a person who should be your ally thematically because you wanted some *bling* *bling*.
The troll eats the corpse!
The troll burps and smiles.

Strangely looks to me like the exact trigger another Beorning has on dying :)
Yeah, it was soo cool! Let's see some more of that:P
I liked it too!
I love that trigger feyd had when he died, that's pure RP ;)
