My guess is that considering how fast Shelob is healing, even if you can't get hit, solo you cannot inflict enough damage on her to kill her.

Btw, crit hits give 0 experience (that's how you recognize them when you are trying a new weap).

And my favorite shelob log is the one when we killed her with just 6 people. Sadly, we won't post it for a long time, because it contains too much 'quest info' about the lair and simply about combinations of weapons, gear, and items to use together to maximize our chances.

It wouldve been cool if the exp was gained from the 'You decide...'....10k+ from each hit on Gothmog would be very cool :P

And...at the time, i thought it was a bug that would be fixed, rather than rebooting the system...so i thought i should be preserving my sword(hate blade).

The NPC didnt die, so the exp wasnt gained...i did actually check that when killing DWS spider :P

Ok, but it's still exp. for free as the NPC didn't return the blows so you loose nothing ;-)

I also noticed (when entering another room) I deliver a fatal blow (I mean 'You decide...') but the NPC didn't die, but I didn't see if I got the exp. from landing the fatal blow :((

You wouldnt make that much exp, from any continuous fight where the npc doesnt die....since most exp from a fight comes from the killing/death-blow hit.

So...you make, lets say, 100exp for crit'ing Gothmog with a sapphie....you would need 100 crits to get anywhere near the exp you would make from getting a death-blow on him...and how unlikely is that?

All people who were on-line at the bug time and realized what was happening ran to the nearest BIG SCARING NPC to hit him barehanded (I was with Gothmog, Bakal was there also ;-))

Osse made a fast reboot cos all people was gainning exp fast... I think.

How much exp could you gain that way if you fought a bee?

It was a bug. No NPCs were attacking. None were dying, either.

Hence, indeed, the reboot. Osse cut it short by ten minutes, too.

This has to have been some sort of bug. The mud was acting goofy and Osse rebooted right when this happened, hence the reboot messages in the log...that's the only thing that makes any sense.

If he woulda had like a sapphy and adequate time could he of solo'd her? or is there some reason she wasn't attacking that I'm not seeing?
