Using the same break twice to disable the assassins trigger isn't lame.. but I think its unfair that you can do that with such a large number of breaks.

Ikea just reminded me what an idiot I am, and that phial only gives aim and attack bonuses. Being the number-one furniture chain I guess he is right... but he's not. My comment stands.
I'd say the drinking of that phial wasn't a waste. The dodge and defense bonuses probably decreased their hit-rate quite effectively.
