I got words he had killed Page, and since it was Horror, I thought he might be low on hp, so I grabbed a weapon and faded and went and feinted.

Yeah, you definately shouldn't have paid. That was an awesome solo and I'm surprised he didn't get on here and complain about it. But I guess pussing it out and trying to get 15K after he apparently offended your guild leaves him no time to cry on the logpage.

When I was in the system, anyone on your hitlist was fair game. And it didn't matter what guild they were with, or joined with.

I agree, he didn't have his guildinfo public and so the attacker wasn't aware of his 'diplomatic immunity' to VC. I think Alkath should be found innocent of breaking the tready and Horror should be a man and put Udungul in his legendinfo at least if he wants to be protected by his guild's treaties.

I'm not trying to change anyone's decision, but if an individual wants to benefit from the type of red-tape protection on offer in this example, I don't get why the member doesn't reveal his allegiance in the his legendinfo, or both the guild and member subscribe to and make use of the who_guild command.
It should not be the responsibility of the killer to have to keep abreast of the up-to-date member register of an opposing guild. That responsibility should lie with that guild and it's members.
Personally, (except in cases where guild allegiance auto updates a characters personal desc with the guild identity) if no attempt has been made by the individual to display allegiance because they want to appear like a free agent, then they should be treated like a free agent.

yeah, and what he did was before he joined udungul, so I think he should take his death like a man, and don't have a freaking freepass just because he joined a guild, ah well, my gm and udungul's gm thought I'd have to pay, so I'll pay, but I still think it sucks!
