    You stand in a spartan guard room.  This seems to be the headquarters
of the on-duty sergeant of the guard force for the castle.  A simple desk
sits against one wall, and a weapon rack lines another.  A chair sits in
front of the desk, unoccupied.  A large slate board covers most of the
wall above the desk.
The north door is closed.
The east door is open.
    The only obvious exits are north, east and down.
