This is a very good log in my opinion. Well executed, exactly the type of thing i would try to pull off. But i wouldnt have Mels and Aiglos at my expence :P. Anyways very nice kills Rand and Drille. Excellent work. pure 6

Erm, you're all fucking nuts. This is a a pure six from me. Because in my opinion, THIS KIND OF LOG IS WHAT THE LOG PAGE IS ALL ABOUT.

Beautiful work, really. Its not easy even BREAKING a hunt when four people and one with whip is attacking you. And whip + fang vs Mels + aiglos is just about as fair of a two on two as you can get, especially when the guy with MELS has been taking a beating.

Sure, more impressive logs can be found... but while this isn't a Da Vinci masterpiece, its certainly an O'Bear work of art, and should be treated as such.

Fuck simple. Its hard to pull this stuff off on competent players. Used to try to break people up with the whipmaster all the time, and everyone kept hunting off when I tried it!

    Keep up the good work.

I took an effort not to flame rand here because he didnt deserve any flaming. They did a good kill, they probably could have gotten 3 if they had better luck with the torturer, but thats beside the point. Some guy said that the log was one of the best ever or something and I disagreed. You had to jump in and try to get under my skin though. It doesn't matter how hard something is when it comes to the log being any good. Sometimes the toughest things to do turn out to make great logs, and sometimes they turn out to be less than that. This is a case of that, imo.

First you complain about people not discussing the log. Then I decide to do just that and what do you do? Complain that my discussing the log and what i think of it is 'bitching. Please don't respond to my comments if you don't read them, or if you can't seem to be able to ever understand them. That goes for everybody, cause I don't want to waste time like this having to respond myself.

The fact that he planned it well and the fact that the plan worked makes it a good read and gives it a good rating.

I mean who now-a-days doesn't use triggers and alias in PK situations?

I bet everyone has alias' to huntbreak and all, that is relying on your client to do the job for you. It takes skill to make up the alias' and having knowledge of the rooms but it takes little skill to break someone trying to PK by simply hitting in a few letters and letting the client do the rest of the work!

I believe that if you know that a party is going after you, and plan things 20 minutes before being attacked, that there is less 'skill' involved. If it were a spur of the moment thing, then yes, it would be a great log. Just like when people used to roast parties in MT because they knew it was coming... all that constituted of was making an alias before hand, and hitting that alias when attacked. But other than that, it's really nothing we haven't seen before. Sure, it's a good read, but for me, it's definately not one of the top 20 logs on this website.

I thought this was a very good log as it involved breaking of a party, splitting, leading to wilderness, backhunting, everything that would constitute a stellar performance. Though I can think of a few logs that are definitely better than this, this is by no means a bad log which just blends in.

I was waithing to see who will open bitching section this time :) so it was Trempk. Anyhow Trempk I'll lend you Aiglos and Mels and you take one friend of you and go in mordor and wait. In no time SoU bang party will appear there (i'll lend whip to them as well) and you do exactly the same what Rand did :D so show me skill doing that or similar and i'll vote 6 for you :D okay?

I dont completely agree with you Hirgail. Quick thinking and quick responses in, e.g. triggering a break, or anticipating where a person is going requires certain amount of mental agility, which could be counted as a skill. Well and typing well is a skill in itself, so the MUD isnt entirely simple :)

Zicex, while this log doesn't deserve a one, agreed, perhaps not even too, it wasn't really that spectacular of a log as most people here seem to think. It was a nice effort by Rand in splitting the party up, and that was it. Otherwise it's like most other logs around here, but then again, this is no surprise as only 1 out of about 600 logs posted here are actually good logs of cool nifty things happening.

Well..I need to interject here...see mud+skill? Bullshit:P You learn some directions and what a room does. You write up an alias and type it.

It takes skill to paint something beautiful, or to be an athlete or an architect...mud is really fucking simple:P Those people that are insane and write up their clients to do all kind of automated things are really just taking something simple like 'do this, that, the other thing' and making it a little more user friendly for themselves.

I rated this a 6 because it was fun and took some 'balls' on Rand's part to run the gauntlet of a near full party to try and seperate someone..and ended up with two kills and some nice loot.

Arch, the point was to bring three people, not four... I was surprised by Hirgail being in in the beginning, so I had to separate you. We wanted to kill 3 people, and would have succeded, most probably, if we hadn't lost both of you.

I just cant see how people can give this a 6. I mean a 5 maybe. I'm always up for seeing SoU die, especially in mordor. But if you want to see a log with two evils getting killed in mordor, go check out calenril's log. They even had the whip and it wasnt an interesting fight. Pretty cool kills though
