It's not a new thing, shards have been there for ages. People just forget about them. I mean, how many pks have you been in near mt when someone even mentioned to be careful of the shards?

at first i was angry with myself for not looting corpses asap instead of going to heal because then i could have picked up aiglos. but then i realized that i had autowield on and if i picked aiglos up for a corpse and wielded it i would have died because i had 40hp and was very evil. so its okay. i always keep autowield off now though.
