Them Sturdy Swords the guards in Michel Delving use are vastly superior to the sturdy swords the guards in Bree use if he -really- wanted to be ineffectual in combat, he could have used one of those.
Backstabbing someone who has just typed 'wear all from ground' = mad free attacks?
