And realize when somebody serves purely to kill ERs easier, because that's not a very evil person.
That doesn't make sense. Immorals get less chances to spy with serving, because they are blocked by guards. And Sauron, who can notice who is truly evil and who is not at Mordor gates, would be able to realize who is truly evil and who is not when someone tries to serve.
I would agree to ER's losing EP on the BD stairs under only one circumstance, the sapphire sword is nerfed or made semi unique at the same time.
It was all ok when people could choose not to be demonic or Shadowspawn. However we're hardcoded to Shadowspawn (an ainur said on the comm the lowest shadowspawn, but still). When you have parties of 2 and 3 morals running around all with fresh sapphire swords, if everyone hits, thats 2-3 rounds. (assuming they get the hits of 40-50hp I've been experiencing)
This reminds me of the time the old ERs magically had the BD key given to them :p
Dumbest idea ever. Climbing anything like this would take at least some ep. It takes ep to search a tiny room or a work bench, etc., but none to climb a set of long, steep stairs? Oh, Sauron is giving them the power to climb the stairs? Why doesn't he give them a skill boost while in mordor then, wtf is that all about?

I don't see any problem with morals serving. If you're going to complain that morals shouldn't be able to serve, then neither should immorals. They're both FRs after all, and aren't held on the same level by Sauron as the ERs are. :P
If immorals can spy on the morals by serving, morals can spy on the evils by serving!
So, for example, the uruk-hai were more evil than Saruman. Right.

One (semi-)sensible explanation would be that it's the will of Sauron that lets them climb stairs without strain, like Saruman's will allowed the Uruk-hai to cross large distances running.
You fall forward as you collapse from exhaustion. All of your energy has been drained by the evil darkness of these stairs.

As I understood it, the EP drain on BD stairs isn't anything to do with theme or alignment, it's to do with the physical strain of climbing. Just like on the Cirith Ungol pass. I can't see why it shouldn't affect evil races, not unless they're somehow immune to fatigue.
