Whip fell into our dwarven lap!
I don't really care where the whip is going or who is using it, as long as its not an 'evil'. This happened one time, and I really did not like that. The whole 'we don't use the whip' thing is a self appointed rule to respect our ancestors who died by the weapon. That's fine by me, since I don't use it anyways. As you said, Nurg introduced that rule, so the rule has not even been in 'place' for half of the BkD history. Before that, we simply did not care.
The Balrog's dead, the whip in my eyes shouldn't be a symbol of the destruction of khazad-dum. More like an exclusive scalp. Don't forget how frequently BkD used it, up until the guild was forced to give up on their 'impartialness' and became moral. Only then were some shady reasons set in stone why it shouldn't be used. Although Nurg reversed that rule once we became impartial it was reinforced due to the shitstorm caused by some members. blah blah, My point is that the reasons why you guys shouldn't use it is pretty far fetched (imhfo) but i guess it ain't worth the hassle when people leave the guild upon finding the bloody thing in the armoury.
