I needed armour, so I go to check tenzek. I do alot of stupid things at the end which is probably why chewie ended up dieing. but, I'll admit, I paniced and wanted my phial just incase, turns out gunthrak grabbed it. :)

You could use a phial to boost your skills but this works for a couple of rounds and then the effects goes. With the BS you already have increased skills. It's better to have aim 400 attack 500 for the BS and THEN, when the effect of the BS is over, you could drink the phial to get some 175 skills to boost your damage for a couple more rounds.
It really makes no difference whether your attack is 500 or 675. This is only ONE round. As Vermond says, you get drunk and get bad aim - so you could easily miss your extra rounds.
I would use a phial to boost my skills AFTER the BS only with an ice staff, PROVIDED THAT the victim is at least at DLSG:)

The other downside to it is if you use a phial in ER land, you can't re-camo after a kill, before a patrol comes...cause you're drunk like you say.
I guess it doesn't affect that much of a great deal anymore since you can't miss hits on backstab, but the drunkness still has a good chance of screwing up your bs damage. If it doesn't, then the bonus can do good.
Weird...all I've ever heard is that the phial makes your hits more powerful and stronger...are you sure about that Vermond? Seems to work for me, although I haven't really tested it.
I agree on this one, I never use phials until my hp is low.
It does with backstabs as far as I'm concerned and I learnt in the hard way :P
Somewhat drunk doesnt make a giant difference to fighting skills, at least not offensivly...i think.
Kelos, it boosts your attack and aim, then makes you drunk so your backstab inflicts a quarter of the damage it would have otherwise.
Sometimes people are confident enough that they see more benefit in getting some EP to headbutt and etc with the phial. Esp if you've been stalking someone for a long time and the stab will put you below 50ep. I have no idea if this is the case with this log.
Stupid? It boosts your attack and aim, helps inflict more damage...if you have someone already low, it's good to get as much as possible on that first hit...

Gnuluk turned up after Arras died, with no healing, it was looking rough. I got out but the evils were waiting for chewie at edoras and he died.
